Is it just that big ten mentality? People compared him to JJ but he's not like JJ at all.
Jimmy had a huge chip on his shoulder & was a super aggressive defensive guy.

JJ wanted to play the best schedule every year. Golden was wetting himself when we dumbed down our schedule.
JJ held grudges & never called off the dogs. Golden routinely calls off the dogs and lets teams march down field and score late in games (even calling timeouts with 10 seconds left, down 20).

JJ made fires after his first season.. when he could see things weren't the way he wanted. Golden brought in recruiting coordinators to run the offense & his best friend to run the defense.

These guys aren't even in the same stratosphere. Well.... maybe the hair. But that's it.

i mean didnt we schedule an OOC top 10 team this year (even though they turned out to be ****, we didnt know that going in)

Cause golden has this ideal of how to coach football and while it's admirable it's pussified. It's football, you have to be aggressive. You don't have to be an ******* but don't be a push over like golden is. Dude is charmin soft trying to emulate joe pa. So he brings his soft mentality with an even softer defensive scheme down to Miami that is the complete opposite of that. He's trying to fit a square peg in a round hole and it ain't working. Unfortunately he comes off as too loyal and stubborn to make the adjustments. Until he realizes this is a business he ain't succeeding as a coach

He turned down LSU cause being soft is in his genetic make up. He wants to pass it off as him being smart and playing the schedule game other programs play but the guy doesn't want to play tough competition cause he's got a losers mentality. It reflects in his defensive scheme, softest defense you will ever see in football.
