Why aren't Orlando Bowls played at UCF?

As I recall, UCF stadium is light years better than the Citrus Bowl.

Can't remember if it is not big enough?

The Citrus Bowl should feel familiar to Canes fans, it's located near a grimy section of DT Orlando much like the Orange Bowl.

If im not mistaken since we played there in 2009 they've done some upgrades to the Citrus Bowl. Also capacity is much more than UCF and closer to Disney, Universal etc...

Dumb post, dumb question, dumb for not knowing obvious answer to dumb question

UCF probably doesn't want to host a bowl on their campus either. I wouldn't want to deal with us on my campus if I was UCF.

Actually UCF is in Orlando but on the east side. The Citrus Bowl is just west of downtown. The resort hotels and the attractions are all much closer to the CB than to UCF.

I'm glad they don't. U F is about a 50 minute drive while the CB is maybe 20 minutes with traffic. The area isn't that bad, isn't great, but I know the city has plans for that whole area.

After this bowl season Orlando is putting $175M into Citrus Bowl stadium renovations. Won't help us this year, but long-term Capital One/Russel will remain good bowls.

Its ghettoville much like the orangebowl back in the day... gotta love it. City has plans to renovate the area and stadium ... sod fixed years back.
