the only program where the backup is the super incompetent guy? Ryan Williams has gone from mr cant play even if Morris is a one-legged disaster, to mr unreplaceable, and Olsen has stepped right in into the disaster backup who is nowhere near ready and if williams acl happens to reattach by a thread he'll hobble his way through another excuse filled starting season...
why do we have the only elite 11 guy who is talked about like if hes a mess, and we see elite 11 guys ballin as true and redshirt freshmen year after year...
why is there such a defeatest rhetoric with this program...lol at ryan williams is the unreplaceable hero now.
I'm not sure why you're so confused. It's a pretty common way that head coaches deal with quarterbacks. Have you ever heard the old adage "if you have two starting quarterbacks, you really have zero?" I'm not agreeing either way, I'm just bringing up a point. If Golden was to pull Morris, he was going to have to stick with Williams all year or risk controversy. Head coaches have very specific ways with dealing with quarterbacks -- and usually extreme caution is one of the main factors.
Golden never said Williams can't play, and he also never said Williams was irreplaceable. Did you hear Golden's comments about Williams after the USF game? I never sensed that Golden ever implied those sentiments either. The idea that Williams is the "unreplaceable" [???] hero is something that has been created on this board. Golden's comments on 560 this morning were nowhere near what you have fabricated in your mind.
There have been a TON of elite 11 QB's that have turned out to be disasters -- Ryan Perrilloux comes to mind.
Olsen is going to be fine, and I'm really excited to see him excel. There is a huge age disparity between Ryan and Kevin. You don't think Golden was playing that angle? It worked, IMO. Way before the injury, Kevin had completely changed his focus and approach. He was just a freshman punk from NJ, living in Miami, alone and with 100% freedom. He needed to grow up a bit, and he did.
I remember looking up to the 5th year guys when I was a freshman and thinking that they were grown men. I was just a kid. There really is a great deal of maturing that needs to take place, especially at a position where maturity is at a premium.
Good luck with your addiction. The first step is admitting you have a problem.
