Who Wins The Job

Williams has the experience but... A part of me tells me AG will start going with the more talented player vice who has been here longer. I believe Kaaya and Olsen will have something to say about it before all is said and done. I am going on record and saying I think Olsen will be our starting at the beginning of next season.

I think this is going to be the first year and where its actually an open competition under golden. when he got in Jacory was the best for sure and then Morris was the best for sure. now he can actually pick a clear winner who is better. Kayaa will probably redshirt like Jamies winston did but im going with Williams. I think if he has a strong Spring and Summer its all his but Olsen will be prepared just in case.

Williams will have better 3rd down conversion percentages. Knows offense better & will keep the chains moving. Sandland & Clive have big years with Williams.

Williams -- Granted Golden hasn't been shy of playing the young players during his tenure

Boy....my heart says Williams my Gut says Olsen...

kaaya red-shirt as needed but will be the MVP of QBS...kis is that good

the other kid ( Russell Wilson Jr) will be a great Scout QB for the spread guys we face...

I hope kaaya redshirts... and i want baby jesus to win the job outright.. but if williams is the man.. then so be it.

When i think about the offense I think about Coley's recent history (Ponder, Emanuel, Winston).

All mobile guys who can also pass on the run and from the pocket and who could pick up a few yards on the ground if need be.

The QB that least looks like a Coley guy is Williams, yet he has the most experience, the most mature is a very accurate pocket passer. If there are questions around any of the other guys he gets the nod simply because he is the safest bet at this point. .

When I look at the film of the guys on our team I only see one guy who looks like the prefect Coley type of QB and that's Malik Rozier. I have to think he had a big hand in getting this guy. He of course is our lowest rated QB coming in but when you watch his film this guy throws on the run very accurately, moves very well 4.44, is not an easy tackle and seems to be a football study. I think this guy will really have Coleys wheels spinning from the get go.

The other two top candidates are Olson and Kaaya. Both straight up pocket passers who are both fairly athletic. Olson has already blown his red shirt and his film shows that he is the best of the two when it comes to form. He stands tall and has a quick an accurate delivery. Kaaya while taller of the two does not stand tall when he throws and does not have the form that Olson does. But Kaaya has a major arm and is accurate as well. I know people are completely sold on Kaaya buts I think that has as much to do with the dream of having a great QB than it does much of anything else. Not that he doesn't have a star written all over him but to me he has the same upside as Olson does and Olson has been in the system one more year and you can redshirt Kaaya. I also think Kaaya is going to have to adjust his natural tendency to throw from a crouched position especially while adjusting to throwing behind our huge OLine. I also don't see how he gets the starting nod over Williams or Olson simply because of experience. If Kaaya is the guy of the future I am not sure you throw him to the wolves in year one.

I really think this is a 2 man race between Williams and Olson and it should be Olson's to lose. I think Rozier has just as much chance as anyone else to see some playing time at the position just because he brings in a completely different (Coley style) look.

If Kaaya get an op to start I think it will need to be because of an injury and the next guy in just flat out performing badly.

My bet would be on Olson starting the season and I think he will do very well. The kid is a competitor and now that he has his sights on starting he will get his head on straight. Crazy as this sounds I think Olson not only starts but he has such a good season that we see one or two guys transfer at the end of the year.

Kaaya a big boy. 6'4-6'5 220

If he can grasp things early. Idk if we see a shirt.

My money was always on Olsen before, but the attitude issues have pushed me away.

I don't think it's Williams. We want forward progression. The long haul. It's Kaaya or Olsen.

Right now I say, Kaaya simply because Olsen's issues as of late. Don't count him out though.

Crazy to think, but Kaaya has the goods, if he grasps things. He WILL be the guy.

If Olsen comes out guns blazing in spring. He's our guy. If Olsen doesn't come out flat the winner in spring. It's Kaaya. Olsen has a good spring, it's Olsen. Olsen has been working out a lot this offseason. My pick was always Olsen to be our guy. Spring will tell a lot. I say Kaaya for now.... ONLY ONLY because of Olsen's off field issues and character concerns. Rosier can factor because he's what Coley loves but I feel he's more of a project to keep an eye on for the future. Kaaya however the most upside of everyone and could develop into a great quarterback.

If Olsen wins out in spring it's him.

If he doesn't. It's Kaaya, I just don't see Williams being the guy, even if he does have experience. I don't see it

I just don't see it. He looks like he is going to be a good one but right now he knows nothing about the offense, wont get here until late may and he he may be tall but he is not as tall as Williams and he does not throw tall. His natural tendency is to bend his back leg like he is about to throw a punch rather than to throw over the top of 6'7" lineman. Watch his film and then watch Williams or Olson and you tell me who has the higher release point. A red shirt could be very valuable to Kaaya's growth and overall career.

This is a very valuable point and the main reason I don't think Morris every threw over 60%. He couldn't consistently get the ball over the middle because or big *** lineman and his height. Clive is going to be a big part of the offense next year with Bubbs gone.

Williams will have better 3rd down conversion percentages. Knows offense better & will keep the chains moving. Sandland & Clive have big years with Williams.

this poster just gets it!

kaaya

because he is everything that olsen isnt from a character standpoint (anyone think we will hear golden say brad needs to work harder? didnt think so)

because he was recruited HARD by our current offensive coordinator

and because i have a hard time believing that either of the other guys will outplay him by enough that the staff can resist handing him the keys. from afar he has probably grown more (both physically and mentally) than olsen and i'll bet golden and coley have observed that. seeing how fast this kid's stock rocketed from this time last year tells me all i need to know. If he was an EE i'd have no doubt that he is our starter game 1, but I still think he wins it.
