Miami is going to hold Virginia to under 10 points Saturday....

Offense will shine, score 45+ points....

We will go into Pitt with some momentum and drub them in the cold.... 37-14

Go to a good bowl game, and be an underdog against whoever we play.

Upset them....

If they do that the season will be a success.It's incredibly important to finish strong. If they don't Golden won't be under any real fire, but it will only be a mattter of time before he's fired. He messed this up, he needs to fix it.

How? How is this season a success by any measuring stick?

The season already is an utter failure. The only thing that has changed from last year is the schedule has gotten exponentially easier. Im not saying Golden is on the hot seat, but I dont give a **** what the end of the year record says, he failed to progress this team and had embarrassing losses to our rivals and a loss to Duke, which..... I dont even want to go there. Winning out and winning a bowl game is the MINIMUM that must be done to REMEDIATE this busted *** excuse of a season. Then he needs a top 3 recruiting class in February. Only then will my faith in Golden be modestly restored.

Its success because it gives credibility to Golden when he goes into recruit high caliber kids who make this program great again. Fortunately for us these 18 year kids aren't as cynical about winning seasons as many of the porsters on this board. The top 25 is filled with teams that played weak sch. won 9-10 games, build momentum and a winning culture. I know it's hard to come out of the 80's,90's and early 2000s but we haven't won 10 games in 10 years. regardless of our schedule. So while it might not be a big deal to you, there are plenty who would classify that as a step in the right direction.

If by "plenty" you mean like 4 people on this board, then I agree.
 
I agree 10 wins is 10 wins and a step in the right direction. A year or two from now people will just see 10-3 and not dissect the schedule. Also, a bit if an * I'd like to toss in, Florida was healthy when Miami beat them and before they're team turned into a mash unit.

But for anyone to take Miami seriously again we have to can the DC and stop having 100+ Ranked defenses year in and year out.

If you need a ******* asterisks to quantify the success of your season then you have already failed.

There's nothing wrong with saying the season was a failure, it was. It doesn't mean Golden's not the guy to do the job long term, but he needs to be realistic in his assesment of the team's progress. If he isn't then there's no way in **** he will be able to build on next year and its the same **** year in and year out. Im a fan of Golden and think he's the right guy for the job, but to say this season is a good one is ignoring the facts. The last 3 weeks have been utter misery. To win out against more sub .500 teams isn't going to change the fact that we fell on our face when there was something to play for. Like I said, to win out is the bare minimum Golden needs to do to BEGIN the rebuild of next season, not wrap up this one.

They're a good group and they've been through a lot of adversity," D'Onofrio said. "They came in under a different coaching staff, had to go to work under a new one, go through missing the opportunity to play in a bowl game the last couple years. You have to positively reinforce the simple fact that even if we lose out, we will still be playing a thirteenth game. That in and of itself is progress."

Not sure about that one. I read somewhere that we would likely play Texas A&M if we win out. Ouch. That would have to be a 50 point projection for the Aggies, in terms of the relationship of spread and total.

I never said it wasn't a failure just saying 10-3 is better than 7-6. That D has a LONG way to go though. I can't imagine the total melt down people would be having now had we not beat Florida.
 
LOL! And preople will point to this game as some sort of vindication that saw two of the worst losses in UM history, and the most dissapointing season in college football of all time.
