Obviously Barrow is a superstar and Golden seems to be a relentless guy from the HC position. But, I really don't hear kids mentioning anyone one specific name aside from those two. Do we have any other aces on the staff? Was hopeful that Richardson and Franklin would be studs in this department but not sure if that's the case or not. I don't hear Williams' name much (any?) but our DB recruiting has been out of this world.

I think that there is a bit of a media blackout on the assts, that everything funnels through AG, so we hear less about the other guys. In fact, if Barrow didn't have the rep coming in to the AG reign, I am not sure we'd have the same opinion of him as we don't hear as much about him, imho, for the reason stated above.

I wouldn't put too much stock into what you "hear," but judge these guys by evaluating how we do in their regions and at their positions.

what value does carrol brings to the team? as a novice rfollower of the program I havent been wow'd by him on the recruiting or talent development front.

He's our recruiting coordinator, he's the one on the road all the time going to see kids at practice, he oversees everything during the season to take the stress off AG he plans all the trips and he's in charge of our west coast recruiting. He hasn't been able to bring Cali kids yet but he was the one gaining knowledge and tons of experience recruiting with his dad when USC was bringing in those classes during Reggie B era

As far as just assistants I would say Barrow and Carroll. I think the hate on Carroll is undeserved. Its hard pulling kids from 3000 miles away and even harder trying to pull them 3000 miles away to a .500 team with looming sanctions. He has is in charge of Tampa right now where Miami has been great since Golden took over.

Correct me if I am wrong, but isn't Carroll the "National Recruiting Coordinator" and Barrow in charge of Florida or something like that? Anyone? Can't remember.
