Where the Dts at?

Y’all got to chill

Gerald Willis
Pat bethel
Jon ford
Goldwire(juco)
Nesta Silvera
Martin
Plus De’s who can move inside like djack and dj on certain downs

Can never recruit too many DT’s. Such a difficult position to develop or project. If you want to win championships then you need the dominate DT’s.

The top teams have recruited big-time DTs....Nesta is a start Miami needs 2 more...IMO landing Thompson would put Miami up there with the big dogs...possibly two impact frosh....Goldwire seems like a good fill in with experience....can't go wrong there at all....
Put us Up there with the big dogs? We are the big dogs.... leading the country in sacks per game; top 3 in tfls per game....

DT recruiting is like the elephant in the room people don't want to address. Instead lets make another thread about Jobe

4 words...... in my james jackson brothers voice

WE HAVE COACH KOOL.....
enough said

and if Willis gets hurt or leaves team again or gets suspended???? which lets not act like odds are so impossible on any of those scenarios.... we have a very unproven DT situation then.....

It looks like we'll close with Nesta, Goldwire & Carson
Its a pretty good haul, wish we could get Thompson

Right now teams like Clemson are the big dogs at DT...Miami hasn't reached that level...imo

Jimmy used to overecruit DL. He knew he could move them to O line if they didn’t work out at DL.

Kipp Vickers has a nice NFL career at guard that way.

Stats indicated otherwise. Our guys produce at an extremely high level. Best in the country in tfls and sacks per game. Clemson had 40 rushes for 71 yards against us...

That's what makes the current situation more confusing. Obviously our on field production is second to none, we have a position coach that is second to none, our top 2 guys are likely gone we may not even have willis. But even with all these factors in our favor we cant seem to lock in on blue chip DTs

maybe the fix is amari carter at DT more. its the opposite of Dno who turned DL into Dbs we turn Dbs to Dls. Always innovating

There aren’t many elite dts this year. We have arguably the best one committed in Nesta Silvera who is starting to shoot up thw rankings. Thompson visiting last weekend before signing day. Anything can happen there

Wilkinson and Lawrence 11 total McIntosh and Norton 1 tackle a piece...both had great years but I saw it myself in person....those two Clemson DTs are monsters!

Wilkins is a monster, lawrence is overrated imo. I like Ferrell, austin Bryant and Wilkins better than him

Lawrence is going to be a top 5 pick..dude is going take over next season....Clemson is winning with strong play in the trenches.. Miami doesn't have any 1st round DT projections its time to take the next step recruiting....Miami needs to add another stud in this class....IMO I'm sure you would like to see it as well...

We have 2 potential first rounders if they decide to come back...

Giving Ford, Bethel, Nesta, etc another year of rotational play and development would start a nice tradition of dominant DT play.

It’s hard to “stack chips” when you have 2 guys leave to be a 2nd/3rd round pick and a 4th/5th round pick.

Mcintosh would have a chance to be

the biggest recruiting job this cycle is if Kul can get the law firm of Norton and Mcintosh to stay. maybe he knows something we don't about their stance

Recruiting on the DL has been solid but there is a very clear gap between Miami and some of the competition from both a numbers and quality standpoint. You can recruit all of the five & four star DB's and WR's but the lines win the games.

Each school has more blue chip DL talent than Miami has in total commits.

And I know there are some prospects we are in on but these schools will be adding prospects too - I think each one leads for a five star so the gap may actually increase.

Yet who dline unit was the best out of that group? Clemson and Miami. This year miami was deeper than Georgia and Bama on the dline . Yeah they had higher rankings but who produced on the field and actually looked like beast? Clemson and Miami. By the way check the stats Miami is number 1 in sacks per game and top 3 in tfls per game.

Production matters>>>>> more than biased rankings coming in to highschool
