Larkin started his career at DePaul. Was not highly recruited, and had a lot of developing to do once he got to Miami. He didn't show up the baller that he was back in 2013. He wasn't all-everything right out of the gate for us...he made his mistakes and had flaws in his game too.


I think that if we do put together multiple winning seasons in a row here, start making the tournament annually as a 5 seed or better, that you could see us get in the mix for some of those elite kids. We'll never land 4-5 McDonalds AA's in a class though...I don't ever see that happening at Miami no matter who the coach is.


As for those elite players...if we can just keep some kids in-state, we could find some elite kids. There are some elite ballers that have come out of Florida in the past 5-6 years--Austin Rivers, Brandon Knight, Joel Embiid, Grayson Allen, Joel Berry, etc...if we could keep some of those guys in-state we could be dangerous. Supplement those dudes with the connections that Coach L has in NYC and Philly, pull the occasional stud from DC/Chicago/Cali, and we'd be in business.
