What position will Brian Edwards start out at?

Or a better question might be what position are the coaches recruiting him for? I know Edwards has a very versatile skill set and he could play at S or CB. I'm just curious how the coaches view him and where they think Edwards has the most potential, highest ceiling etc. I am all too aware of our situation at CB so perhaps he starts out there because of need.

When Edwards started making noise around the camp circuit, I was under the impression that he was a CB all the way here and he still might be. Ive noticed that Pete Ariz has started listing Edwards with the safeties when he talks DB recruiting. I don't know if that is significant or not but I thought it was worth bringing up and possibly discussing.

So, where do you guys think Edwards fits in the best?

I'd personally like to see him stay at corner. Not many kids at that size that can run like he does with fluid hips. I hope that our new coaching staff doesn't repeat some of the Folden mistakes. I always thought that Deon Bush would have been a really great corner, but Alfredo thought that he always knew best. I think Edwards has huge potential and upside as a corner.

Agree on your Edwards eval, but ... Golden was a horrible coach but Deon was far and away our best safety. How would putting him at corner have helped when we had guys like Gunter, Artie and Corn there, but an injured Jenkins, talent-deficient Crawford and a guy in Carter who still hasn't put it all together at safety?

Corner or Free Safety is where he fits best. Depends on need, I expect them to move him around. Manny wants his db's to be versatile.

Bush was where he should have been at safety.

Why do people always say things like "Golden was a terrible coach but..." When talking about something Golden did right? Y'all afraid other posters gonna jump on anything like that and criticize you for saying anything positive about Golden & company? Who gives a fawk. Have some balls. Da mother f***er snagged Kaaya out of Cali. Dat was good.

i was questioning his implication that Golden put Deon at safety because "Golden knows best" and not because Deon was our best safety. Think you're reading too much into it.

I think it depends on how the class turns out. If Marco Wilson commits, or they land a longer shot like Brini or Davis, that would make four corners in the class (Including Bandy and Dallas).

So he comes in as a FS in that case, to complement Gibson (and if Carter comes).

But if Wilson doesn't come and the market is dry, than stick with Edwards at corner and go in on Xavier McKninney to fill another safety spot.

I always thought artie burns should of been a safety and Deon Bush a corner, hey I even think that 2018 kid from coral gables could play corner for us. I noticed south florida has alot of corner/safety type kids these kids are almost 200lbs in high school that's crazy.

If you are referring to Frierson then I prefer him at safety. Josh Jobe on the other hand could be a CB here.
