In your opinion, what does Miami need to do to start signing more 4/5 star players?

Simple question. I don't have the answer. I just know we're not getting enough elite football players to compete at the highest level, especially on defense, and something needs to change within the program.

Any ideas?

Miami signed plenty of 4/5 star guys this go around. What needs to happen is simple, we need to WIN, to get the cream of the crop. Who was the cream of the crop in South Florida this year? I'd say Pope at WR, we got him, Nesta at DT, we got him, Scaife at OL, we got him, Cook at RB? missed, but got Cam, TE we got our guys south FL or not, DB, Pat, Tyson? Was that it? I think Gilbert and Hall are studs just as well. We are definitely getting there, but missing on the national studs last few years is all I can think of. 1 of Pat and Tyson this year was needed and didn't happen. Dalvin didn't happen, Ridley didn't happen. Those are the guys we've been missing and missed on this year, but if this was 2 years ago, Gil goes to UGA, Silvera does not come, Pope goes to Bama, Hall goes to Bama, Reed to UF, etc.

Things are changing, just gotta keep after it. We win ACC, Ladson and Rique come. Sanguinetti, Richards come. WIN, WIN, WIN.

Get better recruiters on defense. All is good on offense.

Need to also start producing some elite college players again to sell. Turn some of the top tier, high potential kids you get (ex. Jackson, Garvin, Richards) into All American/Top 10 draft types that local recruits can look up to (like they do Ridley, Cooper, Cook, etc.).

Tell the S.FL snakes to **** off and recruit Georgia. More respect for the program by those kids it seems

The answer = continue the trend line.

On-Field Performance:

2015: 8-5
2016: 9-4
2017: 10-3 (Coastal Champs)

Recruiting Ranking:

2016: 22nd
2017: 12th
2018: 7th

Post Season:
2015: The We Fired Our Head Coach Bowl (Sometimes called the Sun Bowl)
2016: Bowl win in a tier two bowl.
2017: Played in the ACC title game and went to a BCS bowl.

All of these trends tell us that we're on the right path. I don't know why everyone isn't more excited today.

Meat is right to an extent. Ya maybe some of his complaints are a little much but he's absolutely correct that not getting at least 1 of these corners is a failure. Who is starting opposite of Jackson right now??? I'll tell you this: if Campbell or Surtain had committed, that's who I would pencil in right now. Dean is garbage, and the other corners, although talented, aren't as good as the AH duo (coming out of high school). As for the D-line, Nesta better but his money where his mouth is cause he'll be expected to contribute immediately. We have **** poor depth on the line, as well as potential holes at linebacker after this year.

What needs to change most is our evaluations of S. Fla talent; seems like too many guys who would have committed here were spurned away cause our staff was so **** picky. And even then we didn't land a lot of our top targets on the defensive side. Offensively, class is an A/A+

to keep that trend going you need to keep landing elite prospects at every position and we are lacking that extremely on the DL and at corner, we keep recruiting those positions like we are now that upward trend everyone is talking about will start to go down

I think we need to stop recruiting front-running, primadonna, "look at me and my hat show," type kids who everyone is after. Get more local high 3, and 4 stars like Ivey, Blades, Friersom, Ezzard, that DT that went to Oregon and was a freshman AA, Joyner, Rousseau, Garvin, Wildgoose, Hightower, Wiggins, Homer, Chatfield, Bonnito, etc. Forget high profile guys like PS2, TC. We are never going to get those guys and we really don't need to if we fill out our roster for once with high quality, under the radar guys. Look at Wisconsin for Pete's sake! They kicked our butt with scraps. Today they signed Wildgoose. Rinse and repeat.
