What is Golden's/Fisch's vision for this offense?

We have Duke, and we're heavy after Collins, Michel, Cook, and Scarlett over the next few years. We're recruiting pro-style QBs, and we're also bringing in at least 3 TEs this year. Plus we brought in Danny Dillard to be a big North-South guy (however early word is he's not too good). There also seems to be an emphasis on finding big, physical WRs (Scott, Carter, Jones) to go along with the quicker slot guys.

It seems like we want to pound the ball out of pro sets, and utilize versatile TEs who can block and also work the middle of the field.

We haven't done any of that this year. The puzzling thing about this is we tried it last year (although our o-line didn't have much success mauling teams).

So I'm left wondering if we've adopted this hurry-up spread mentality for this season only, or is this closer to what Golden and Fisch want us to be. I can't imagine it is, especially since Golden ran a meat & potatoes offense with an NFL-caliber RB at Temple.

My hope is that we'll see more of an effort to establish the line-of-scrimmage with another off-season of UTough, and more accumulation of the "right" personnel.

I agree, another year of UTough will be huge for our running game. We're clearly a better conditioned team, now it's about getting stronger.

Golden has always said he was to run out of a two tight end set with a one back offense. I think what we saw last year was closer to what they want to run then what we're seeing this year.
