Jason Hatcher 4 Star DE committed to USC. Top 50 recruit on Scout. Hint: its a trick question

So dude looks pretty **** good. He's ranked higher than Muhammed and is a kid from KY that USC thought highly enough to go after even though they don't need to leave the state for DE's.

Where am I going with this? This is the dude that Alex Gall shut down in their big match up this year. Shut him down. Shut him down at tackle, no less.

No point to this other than I like this story.

I think Gall can be a solid Guard for us, he's already a great recruiter.

He can be a center, guard, or even a RT I think. We should be good at tackle though so a move inside makes sense. Kid is huge but a look at center might be most beneficial to us.

Gall is a good get because this kid has a great first step.

The video of the matchup was premium content but on a couple plays that were shown, Hatcher got Gall off balance. Hatcher looks like he has a ton of speed and Gall is more of a mauler so thats to be expected. That said, Gall's balance and recovery was outstanding and he never let Hatcher by him.

On the couple plays shown where they locked horns, Gall devoured him.

it really amazes me the kid has not even played a down and we already know he will not be an all-american.

Don't be so sensitive! I said he'd never be an all-American at LT, which I believe Barrett Jones did last season as he has shuffled all along the OL for Bama throughout his career. I'm willing to bet a lot that Gall never plays a game snap at LT.

That doesn't mean I don't think he can be great, I even said as much in my post. I just think his skill set best suits the interior. I was one of the first people on here mentioning the idea of Gall as our future center. And I think he can be great in that role. I was just trying to slow down the comparison to one of the most decorated offensive linemen in college football history.

Keep up, man!

i'm not at all drawing comparisons, but this reminded me of somebody reporting that AJ Green was overrated, and Brandon Harris shut him down in a preseason H.S. game between BTW and Green's school in South Carolina. this also resulted in statements that we wouldn't miss losing then-Patrick Johnson.

again, not stating that is the case here, and am very glad Gall shut down this DE recruit.

I hear you but I wanted to point this out because he is an OOS kid that is under the radar as far as rankings. BH and AJ were all world 5 stars that everyone knew.

Just passing some info along to the guys who aren't as familiar with him.

I just don't understand why OSU didn't offer...or did they?

And I'm not knocking this kid, because I've been fairly vocal on how much I like him. Great attitude, very good size and you can just tell he's a gamer. I just thought it was weird OSU didn't offer.

lol.. no one is being sensitive. all i am saying is you nor I no exactly what position he is going to play. so before we "assume" he is not playing a position, let it play out and we shall see. All i hope is he will be an all-american at any position he plays, center, guard, or tackle.

Not sure. He may have been a late eval and he has been extremely vocal that he is done with the process. The Ohio scout guy loves him and pretty much said the teams up there just missed the boat with him. Another example of why the **** camps are so important.
