Welp......out the window with that excuse.

Can someone please let me in early on the next round of excuses?

Let's round up some of them up to this point......

1.) They need to have a couple years to build relationships down here. CHECK

2.) We need to win and they will come. CHECK

3.) We got kids that wanted to be Canes. CHECK

4.) We aren't going to get all of them. We've NEVER gotten all of them, even during our glory years. DOUBLE CHECK

5.) Bag game. Until we start playing it, we'll always be behind the 8 ball. CHECK

6.)
Staying home just doesn’t resonate with some kids

Please feel free to post more if I forgot any below........

To be fair; we didn’t really win. Going 0-3 down the stretch in embarrassing fashion was a no bueno.

2015- 8 wins
Class of 2016- 22nd

2016- 9 wins
Class of 2017- 12th

2017- 10 wins
Class of 2018- 6th

The trends are pretty easy to read.

This in undeniable if you are objective.
But I don't think the OP has any interest in being objective.

Again, not the best way to evaluate quality of class. Look at the average rank per player. We are currently 9th when looking at that figure. Rankings are always inflated dude to number of signings. Clemson has passed us even though they have 6 less kids committed. That is because the quality of kid they signed is better.

one 10 win season is not enough to rebuild all the damage to the brand done by years of mediocrity. many of these kids had never seen miami win a bowl game until the season before last. the trend is undeniable but there is still work to be done.

OP is another “Woe is me” whiner. It took Clemson 4 to 5 years to get good. CFB winning does not come in little instant success pouches, it takes both, progressive winning and progressive recruiting. Unbunch your undies...

We just had the first 10 win season in 15 years. Of course we should be expecting the # 1 recruiting class in the nation and be totally unsatisfied with the #6 or 7 ranked class.

Right? That's how it works right?

It's also obvious that the rank per player is a load of **** too. Mark Pope ranked 35th best receiver, GTFOH. Brevin Jordan not getting a 5th star and being the #1 TE is a joke too. There are holes in everything.

The fact of the matter is that we have never been this recruiting juggernaut. UF and FSU have always had higher ranked classes than us going back to 2000. Even during our glory days in the early 2000s we were not bringing in top 3 classes.

We were at 6 (now might be 7 w/ the kid that picked USC) and that is a good class for what we have dealt with. Barring anything crazy, we will finish ranked higher than FSU and UF which will be the first time since 2008 (and we all know how that class turned out). I'm disappointed in the AH corner situation, but we got the number 1 DT, 1 WR, and 1 RB in FL. When was the last time we could say that?

One thing others have pointed out is the "Ohh this year is loaded at this position" mentality which is a little concerning depth wise if you cannot deliver.

If they don't come, then we won't win, then they won't come, then we won't win and so on...
