Full stat roll thread coming tomorrow but Miami currently has the #1 offense in America in yards per play.

I only look at FBS vs FBS games, so obviously we’ve only played 2 such games, and some teams have only played 1. Not the biggest sample size, obviously. But through week 3, Miami is currently averaging more offensive yards per play than any other team in the country.

9.14 yards every time we snap the football on offense, which is just a comical number.

Long, long, long way to go. But what we’ve done through 3 games is literally historic. Go do it again on Saturday.

The only thing is, we really haven’t played our best the last 2 games consecutively on offense, which is concerning. Because obviously if we’re gonna make any real noise, we know that’s the side that’s gonna have to carry us.

23 points on 10 drives against GT
35 points on 11 drives against Wake

3.18 points per drive, which is what we got on Saturday, is excellent. That’s easily a top 15 number annually. But it’s lower than what we’ve been getting all year. Have DCs figured out Dawson some? Have we gotten a little stagnant? Is Cam pressing just a bit? I’m not sure, but we gotta get better.

I really liked 2 things I saw Saturday:

A clear initiative to get Arroyo the ball more. We have a ton of weapons and can beat you many ways, but that kid is a major mismatch. He needs 8 targets a game.

The involvement of Jordan Lyle. He looks like he has a different gear than the other 2. He needs more looks.
