Had a previous coaching staff not overlooked Cooper and made him a Cane like he wanted to be, we wouldn't have had to fight and lose to Bama for Ridley and Jeudy because the pipeline wouldn't exist. Same can be said for Freeman recruiting Cook to FSU. I get that we can't sign them all but when an Antonio Brown shows up on your doorstep, have a **** staff with some evaluation skills instead of chasing rankings and stars. Hopefully we have that in place again or will soon because it is downright sickening to see the talent that has left here the last 14-15 years that was easily recruitable.

Man, Jeudy is an ELITE talent. But a few things --

1. We need to remember this dude has been an Alabama commit for some time now. It's not like he spurned us for Bama. He did that months ago.
2. Unless this guy's name is Cam Newton, Jameis Winston (I'll give him his props), Jeudy alone wasn't gonna win us a ship.

As to what you're saying, maybe we shouldn't be jerking Dingle around. Dude carries alot of weigth at STATE CHAMPION Carol City and there's some studs in that pipeline.

IIRC, we didn't overlook Cooper, we tried to force him to make a decision on the spot which turned him off...but yeah, that recruiting blunder and the Freeman blunder has led to pipelines expanding to other schools.

By the sounds of it we're back on board the Dingle train.

That's what I'm saying. Same with Collier and every other deserving kid we slow play hoping for a bigger fish.

I heard it a different way with Cooper with the staff thinking he was too slow.

We should've never been off of it, man. I've seen dude live -- he is legit. He is nowhere near as slow as people are making him out to be, and he does his best work in the biggest games against top notch talent. It's crazy how this guy has been talked down on recently. Is he Jeudy good? **** no! But dude's out here acting like he's a paraplegic out there running routes.

Maybe you're right...it's all a blur to me nowadays. Like I can't believe these are my Canes now. All in all, we messed that recruitment up tremendously along w/ several others that are coming back to bite us.

Totally agree with OP. Can't blame the new staff at all for losing Jeudy, its all on the former Golden and Shannon staffs.

2 Biggest Recruiting Loses EVER at Miami-

Dalvin Cook - FSU

Shannon Staff Mistake:
- Didn't recruit Devonta Freeman out of Miami Central because of his height. Kid was a diehard Cane fan and he ended up killing us and flashing the 305 every game right in our face in spite.

Golden Staff Mistake:
- Hired James Coley who loved James Yearby and we took him early in the recruiting process. Cook wanted to separate himself from Yearby and idolized former Central RB Freeman. Wanted to follow in his footsteps. Once the Golden staff realized Cook was way better than Yearby, it was too late.

Amari Cooper - Alabama

Golden Staff Mistake:
- Staff was late to the party with Amari Cooper and then tried to force an early commitment (classic Golden just trying to brag about his commit/ market the early success of a recruiting class, without respecting the process and a kids decision).

- Next thing you know Bama is selling Ridley on being the next Cooper, and Jeudy on being the next Cooper or Ridley.

O and these teams have been winning...Game Over

I gotta go with Bridgewater and Patrick Peterson.

How many ships or Bowl wins has Dalvin brought to FSU? You could actually make the argument that they've trended downward since he's been there. They went from champions, to getting embarrassed by Oregon (thanks in large part to Cook's performance), to getting spanked by HOUSTON (thanks in part to Cook's performance), to their worse record in years. Let this sink in: There's a chance that FSU w Cook in his money year might finish w the same exact record as us. Dude is like Bernard King to me. Puts up huge numbers, but yeah... that was nice.

Bridgewater changed a program around, and I fully believe he would've done so here.

Shalala was the problem that never went away. Never wanted to spend the money on football, simple as that. Hopefully Ric and gang can change that.

You serious?

Cook's the sole reason we lost to FSU the last two years. Cook's not the reason that they got straight beat down by Oregon either.

Cook's also likely going to be a 1st round draft pick and is the best RB to ever lace up for FSU. I hate speaking up for an FSU player, but Cook's elite.

without cook, fsu doesnt even make the playoffs that year. i counted at least 3 games that year where he bailed out the team with a back breaking run that put fsu over the top. he fumbled against oregon but he was also the guy who got them there. without him they dont beat miami the last 3 years

I'd argue our OC lost it for us the last 2 years.

No doubt Cook is Elite. Not arguing that point. Top 3 back to ever come out of s. Florida. Maybe only Gore and Edge are betyer.

Funny story-- AG thought that Herb.Waters was just as.good.as Cooper. That's why Ag didn't go after Cooper hard

Ridley would have never got into Miami, so I have to stop you right there.

Also for as much as Golden messed up with Amari, Amari actually wasn't too keen about staying home.

We demonize these kids but Miami has been a sh*t show with bad coaches, lackluster fans, and ok facilities. If you had a 5* son would you really have wanted him to play for golden?

Jesus.

Almost as bad as Mayes over Quincy.

Probably thought that kid Detmer coached was just as good as Bridgewater, too.

Bull****. If they can get Mullins and Choc in, I will never doubt they can get a player in! Ever!!

Miami would be on death penalty watch if we touched Ridley. Dude literally had another kid take the ACT for him. EVERYBODY knows it. Menawhile Bama is just walking by whistling, (Officer Barbrady voice) "Nothing to see here", like they're just daring the NCAA to come at them.

UM would be eviscerated if that had been us.
