We couldve had MIKE LEACH for free....

I love Leach but I think you have to be able to run the ball.

I rather have a Briles/Malzahn type at this point.

Imagine Duke Johnson in that type of offense...

yeah, would have loved to have seen Leach deal with the NCAA. We would no longer have a football program..

Would he fix the defense? It seems like we would just have a potentially better offense.

It wouldn't be worse than it is now brotha

And what would that mean, similar results with more points? I never wanted Leach, I still don't want Leach.

Sumlin is a better choice. He's Leach without the baggage.

I mean what are we talking about here, we're not getting Sumlin.

Too me Sumlin and Leach are almost identical on game day but Sumlin is better off the field. Let me put it this way, neither can coach a defense and Leach has issues off the field.. Sumlin also has the best QB he may ever have, look at where they are.

lol - No, I didn't mean we could get him. I was just contrasting the two guys. Any offensive guru would do well to get someone on defense and let them do their thing. Curiously, those guys rarely learn that lesson.

For some reason Sumlin and Leach haven't done that (bring in the big time Defensive Guy), I don't get why they don't do it and give that guy control. Especially Sumlin, his team can certainly afford it.

No thanks. Leach is running the ball 18 times per game, which is 8 fewer than the second to last team in that category. Virtually impossible to run the table or even come close with that type of frail imbalance. Leach's proteges took away a far better approach than he taught them.

Mike Leach would have had this offense humming and everyone would be having fun. And he would have brought a nice edge to the team. Dammit mane

Pretty nice 5 game stretch here by Leach's defense (before this week's win over Arizona).

Stanford loss 55-17
California win 44-22
Oregon State loss 52-24
Oregon loss 62-38
Arizona State loss 55-21

WSU has 570 rushing yards on the season. Everyone has bastardized a portion of his passing offense into their scheme. He reminds me of the passing Paul Johnson. Too stubborn, douce-baggy to adjust his system - at all - because he's more interested in continually trying to prove he's right, he's the smartest guy in the room, his system is best, he's not changing, than he is to win games by any means necessary. All people do in football is copy whatever is working. To be as inflexible as he is reeks as much of stupidity as it does arrogance. IMO the ship sailed on the pirate a few years ago.

Should have offered Charlie Strong in 2007. Miami wanted someone with head coaching experience. When Schiano and a couple of others said no, that's when Miami promoted within. Who hires within from a failed staff? Don't kid yourself that Shannon didn't play a part in clearing out some of the defensive assistants after the 2005. I know John Palermo and Shanno did not get along at all so he was gone after 2006.
