We actually don't need any more safeties.

We don't have any safeties where quarterbacks are afraid to throw the ball down the field. That's what we need. Carter and Smith are both safeties that thrive coming up into the box. Jaquan is solid in coverage but his lack of explosiveness doesn't strike fear into the QB.

Idk if Jobe would be that guy, but we need someone like that.

We actually do have solid depth at S next year, if you can bring him a big time talent like Jobe though, you obviously do but you all acting like Hall and Frierson are bums smh.

Miami needs to recruit the best to compete with the best... Johnson is the only proven bigtime Safety on the roster right now....the rest are still unproven....IMO

Redwine is proven. He is solid.

Carter and Smith both showed flashes. The potential is there.

We need both corners and safeties...But corner is def a little more of a dire need. Even if we do move a safety to LB

We out here with DBs who can't pick up a ball right in front of them talking about we got "elite" DB. SMH.

Pete’s said time and time again that Frierson will go in as a corner. Wonder if he moves to safety without Jobe because he’s the best candidate to do so. I’m not sold on the safety depth yet at all. We need elite safety play if we want to be elite. We need at least two big time safeties. Hopefully we can pull in Surtain to go with Hall

This program gave us Sean Taylor, Ed Reed, Bennie Blades, Darryl Williams, Brandon Meriweather, Kenny Phillips, Deon Bush, Fred Marion, Burgess Owens and many others. It literally gave us the two best safeties in the history of football, and within a year apart., The standards are high. Expectations should be high.

Same story at DL. Some folks say it's unlikely we can replicate Norton and McIntosh inside. Cortez Kennedy and Russell Maryland (and Jimmy Jones) disagree. Jerome Brown and Dan Sileo say hi. Even William Joseph, Damione Lewis and Vince Wilfork say hi. Warren Sapp and whoever else he had around him says hi. Ruben Carter, Don Latimer, Don Smith, Lester Williams, Tony Chickillo, Jim Burt, Kevin ***an leading up to Jerome Brown and Dan Sileo all say man up.

However did Clemson beat us so badly?

Their lines and QB were twice as good as ours.
So you don't think we need more talent anywhere other than on the line and at QB?

Of course we can always use more talent everywhere but I do think if we had their Offensive Lineand QB we win a NC this year.

FIFY - Get us an Oline and an accurate QB and we would have been dominant this year in my opinion.

Exactly! If we pull Campbell and Surtain along with Frierson, Ivey, Blades, and Hall... OOOO Buddy. IMO Ivey and Campbell are CBs, and Hall is a S, but Surtain Frierson and Blades could play either. With us probably moving to 4-2-5, these are the type of versatile athletes we need.

Redwine had a bad Clemson game. He’s not an all American. He’s not trash like Knowles either. Knowles should be pushed out this spring. As for the Clemson game...ask yourselves if any team in the country would beat Clemson missing their top 3 offensive players? UM missed Richards, Herndon, and Walton. Look what happened to Bama missing starters on defense and FSU losing Frenchy. They both got beat and were widely considered elite teams to start the season.
Now, let’s flip the injury situation for the Clemson game. Assume Clemson was missing Etienne, Cain, and Bryant (top 3 offensive players) Meanwhile UM had Richards, Herndon, and Richards. Not only is the game close but UM wins. So please stop using the Clemson game as a reason players suck. Nobody in America could’ve overcome those injuries.

here is the thing rumor is Miami wants to go to a 4-2-5 with a rover which would be a safety guy like Amari carter playing the rover so having a few extra safeties to play rover would be aboon, it would mean mcloud would be backup to Pinkney I th ink but if do go 4-2-5 vs 4-3 play now having extra safeties is a must

oline and qb, period. that's how they beat us so badly. there oline was better then ours there dline was just as good as ours and there qb was light years better then rosier that's how they did it. rosier had guys open and missed them Kelly Bryant didn't miss his guys when open

What? We have an all American back there, another experienced senior, two promising fr all American types, 2 elite safety tecruits coveted by every program in the country, 2 more 5 stars coming in 2019, and 2 veterans providing emergency 4 th string depth.

It is literally a perfect depth chart.
