Watch the finish.

NSD can't get here quick enough... I'm so ready for this to be over with, whoever signs with Miami will be "welcomed" and whoever doesn't is considered "the enemy", PLAIN AND SIMPLE.. All this whining and crying about who signed and who didn't sign is worthless, it won't change anything that has happen, AFTER NSD time to move on and start focusing on Surge19'!! Whoever we miss out on in 18', we need to replace them in 19', PLAIN AND SIMPLE..

That's not at all how it works. You need a certain number at each position each year or you get this crap we had at TE this year. RB was a little better, but not much. We had no viable backup QB. Those are all problems caused by lack of bodies, or lack of talent. We aren't sunk if we don't get this or that recruit, but there are certain numbers we need to hit to field a viable team.

That's not whining, just logic.

Cmon hegemon. This class isn’t a c if we get only 1 dt.

Really?

You're ok with a depth chart of 5 kids?

That is a failure in every sense of the word.

What if I told you that we only had 5 DT on the 2001 roster?
What if I told you that was 17 years ago and CFB has changed since then?

What if I told You we rarely used the 4th dt in games this year

What if I told you a message board for University of Miami fans became the battlefield for a discussion about DT depth.

ESPN 30 for 30, premiering immediately after Bama/Georgia.

What if I told you that the Clemson 2017 roster only had 6 DT on it ?
They actually have eight; all 4 and 5* with the exception of one player. The number in our case isn't the problem but moreso the lack of experience they would have if Norton and McIntosh were to leave.

And guess What? That 4th DT, you know the one who rarely played, will most likely start for this year's team.

What if I told you norton and Mcintosh had little to no experience prior to their breakout 2016 season

And? Mcintosh started his sophomore year and did very well. Willis got his spot locked up so a battle between bethel , ford, Silvera plus whoever else we bring will be a good one

You're missing the bigger picture; we are/were? positioned to compete this year. You can't compete with two of your most important starters, at one of the most important positions in football period, leaving. I'd love for anyone to point me in the direction of a past top 10 team with majority of inexperienced players along the DL.

The problem isn't having 5 DTs, our problem is the 5 we would have.....

I agree that havin 5 isn't the problem...I don't necessarily agree that then ones we have are a problem.
I need to see have we have in Ford...I like what I saw in Bethel this year...can we count on Willis? I need to see how this all shakes out before I say we are in trouble

Yeah but read your post, there is serious reason for concern. The most talented guy can't stay on the field. Bethel looks to be developing but is somewhat undersized. We don't know what we have with Ford although there is promise, and Martin is a project. Then we have a talented kid in Nesta who 1) hasnt even signed yet and 2) is a true freshman. This is a terrible situation.

This board is full of a ton of basement nerds. Your same type is probably on Oklahoma boards ing about how Lincoln Riley can't win the big games and how Mayfield sucks. You take a few Ls and the whole world collapses before you. Would be nice if the Mods just erased all the accounts of the terrified doom and gloom fans
What a great f@cking Post! Erase all the basement dwelling doom and gloom nerds!!!

Why do so many Get so upset when many here know we have to recruit better at defensive line and offensive line. We have recruited better on the offensive line but that can be improved and certainly the defensive tackle position recruiting has to get better if we are to compete with the top play off programs.

Let's say Nort and Mc come back for sr season. Are we going to recruit any addtl DT's then what is perceived at this moment in this current cycle? I don't think so in my opinion. Point is, whether these two leave this yr or next, we will be in the same situation of uncertainty. Next year, Willis and DJax are gone, Joe Jackson declares, and both Nort and Mc would be gone. Heck, next yr could be worse unless we sign a few more DL this cycle or load up on JUCO DL in the next...

And btw, OL and DL recruiting should be 8-10 spots filled every single year as it accounts for 41% of your starting 22...

I live for the downvote, I'll die for the downvote. *Biggie voice

Makes me know I'm not participating in Groupthink. Check out Asch conformity experiments and while you're at it stiffen up that upper lip.

"and he COULD lose all 4"

Of course he could. He could get 1, 2, 4, or 4 as well.
I don't down vote much and i will will not down vote your OP.

But after reading your quote "I live for the downvote, I'll die for the downvote", and reading your approach on the side of the glass being completely empty, your OP (Including the title) has a feeling of actually looking for a down vote instead of putting out valid points to consider.

Appreciate your input on "what if we don't" and falling to 10/12 in the rankings, but
I think we'll fall somewhere in between that and "we'll get them all", and be closer to #6 than we will #12 .

I appreciate your response. No sarcasm about that.

Overall, I'm positive about the state of the program after the used car salesman years, but I don't want to just see the light at the end, I want to feel it. Close is not good enough when we have the best talent in the country in our own backyard. I admit I see a scenario whee we level-off at about 10 wins a year but I also see a scenario where we dominate college football once Saban retires.

Beast Mode posted an article showing Bama's roster is at 70% 4/5 stars, OSU is at 63%.
70% of our incoming class this year is 4/5 stars.

Can we continue to recruit that way? I think so.
When we get close to those guys talent wise we have a shot.

Whether anyone thinks Richt is an elite coach or not, they have to remember we won natty's with great talent and "not so elite" coaches like Coker and Erickson.
