Was our D this bad last year???

I don't remember us being this bad. Sure we gave up a few plays here and there. But not like the monstrosity that is on the field for us this year


Did the guys that left early really impact our D that much??

We've replaced them with what we thought were more talented youngsters.........except maybe on the Dline of course



But how did we regress? I thought we looked ok last year. We were in every game


Is it really just scheme? Or does it really have to do with players?

Our Defense was basically this bad last season early on.

It's just a cluster**** right now mane. Coaches, players, freshmens, schemes, everything is facked right now

We were only bad vs Maryland because we had 11 players suspended. 9 of them starters.


But after that, we were in every game at lease. We blew out OSU and had the ball to end the game vs VT

****, even in the Maryland game the D gave us a shot at the end and we blew it with poor clock management and an INT


We were not this bad.

there is huge difference between 17-18 years old boys and 22-23 old men.
 
No, it's worse this year, and we will give up 450+ yards to any average or above offense. Pepare for it.....

Our DL is killing us this year, we are getting absolutely nothing out of them. We can't stop the run, we don't pressure the QB, we don't knock down passes and we can't get off blocks, besides that we are much better than last year.

Why are we worse is my question

Is it scheme like some are saying.....or young guys like the rest are saying?

Ojomo and Vernon are on NFL teams, and Spence is smarter than all 11 guys we have now put together. Porters our only middle push guy, and his pinky is always hurt.

IMO it's talent, guys like Bush/Howard aren't ready, K-States a talent level they have never seen, as will be other teams. Howard was the #1 cb in America, and he's gettin abused, just gotta live with it.
 
We would be 10 times better if we had those guys. We would even be a **** of a lot better if Vernon came back, Ojomo got a 6th year and Porter didn't always have something wrong with him.

A couple of others who are gone off that defense are Regis and MRob. Not world beaters but Regis was better than every DT listed on the depth chart and MRob is a huge upgrade over Cain.

DL is the name of the game.... we're down Porter, Vernon, Ojomo and Fortson. As JAG as those guys might have played at times, they would probably all four be our starters this year.

this, especially where it hurts the most - the Def Line.

I agree, but i would not say "probably." i think it's a certainty those four would be starting if here and healthy.
 
Ojomo and Vernon I think would really help this team this year. And even an outside chance of Forston but I wouldn't bet on it that much as the other two.

And 3 of them are on NFL rosters. NFL, National Football League. The other guy is arguably the most talented of the four and he's out with crabs or something. I know low IQ can be a tough hand, seems we have a lot of that here.
