Hey I'm a little more than half way through a great football book I think many of you would enjoy. War Room: The Legacy of Bill Belichick and the Art of Building the Perfect Team by Michael Holley. If you use Kindle it's cheap. A great read that delves deeply into obtaining the personnel that fits into the teams scheme - takes into account many factors, including building the team's scheme to fit the weather, the competition, etc. Similarly discusses the scoring systems used by the pros to select personnel. Much of this is very obviously but on a smaller scale what NCAAF teams should be doing - finding gems which may not be obvious based on star ranking but fit the scheme well.
It's not just about New England, it keys around the Patriots but also follows Belichick disciples who go on to other teams most notably the Falcons and Chiefs - and discusses many other key people in the business.
Post the Spring Game, we're going to sitting around chomping at the bit for Fall practice. This book is well written and hard to put down.
CANES - MAY THE FORCE BE WITH YOU!
