Hey I'm a little more than half way through a great football book I think many of you would enjoy. War Room: The Legacy of Bill Belichick and the Art of Building the Perfect Team by Michael Holley. If you use Kindle it's cheap. A great read that delves deeply into obtaining the personnel that fits into the teams scheme - takes into account many factors, including building the team's scheme to fit the weather, the competition, etc. Similarly discusses the scoring systems used by the pros to select personnel. Much of this is very obviously but on a smaller scale what NCAAF teams should be doing - finding gems which may not be obvious based on star ranking but fit the scheme well.

It's not just about New England, it keys around the Patriots but also follows Belichick disciples who go on to other teams most notably the Falcons and Chiefs - and discusses many other key people in the business.

Post the Spring Game, we're going to sitting around chomping at the bit for Fall practice. This book is well written and hard to put down.

CANES - MAY THE FORCE BE WITH YOU!

Hey I'm no Pats fan, but the book is good. Even harder to like as a Giant fan.

Why? The Pats have handed you guys 2 Super Bowl wins.

It is - an inter-conference rivilary; but you have to respect what the Pats did and still do.

Haven't won a Super Bowl since they got caught cheating.

Call me crazy, but when two real good teams are in the Super Bowl, I think it's a huge advantage when you've secretly videotaped your opponents practices and know all their calls and plays,

My last word(s) on this topic...which by the way is about a good book with a lot of good info on scouting and building to a scheme, etc. Which was the point in the first place. The book, by the way does discuss the "spygate" incident. It also breaks down games, schemes, personnel and discusses a lot of other teams, coaches and key managerial and scouting personnel. If you like football and want an inside view of some of the operations - read it, it's well written. This was not a post about the wonderful PatriotsSMH

LOL. Canes fans always have to neg even if we won the national title this season everybody would still complain. just have a decent convo. BTW, good Post OP
