VT Grad WR Damon Hazelton to the Portal

We got limited numbers... rather use on them OL, DBs, and QB

Agreed. We only have 5-6 more spots in this class. I’m not going to go down the rabbit hole of initial counters, transfers etc... the new transfer rule makes things tough. At the end of the day you can only bring in 25 a class. You could lose 20 guys to the portal but that doesn’t give you 20 extra spots on top of your 25.

we need 2 CB, 2 OL and a QB. So I’m not sure if there is room for a WR. If there ends up being room, we could use another veteran though because that room is weak right now in my opinion.

The numbers are definitely tight on initial counters. The number is supposed to be 26.

We signed 18 early plus Borregales. Assuming Moise signs, that leaves us with 6

King would be 1, I’m thinking 2 HS DB’s (hopefully Dunson is 1). That would leave 3 spots. 1-2 for OL so it’s tight.

The best scenario for WR numbers would be Hightower coming back but that doesn’t seem real likely right now.

He would have to sit out a year despite being grad as he was at Ball State before coming to VT.
"According to a source with knowledge of the situation, Hazelton will have to sit a year unless he's granted an NCAA waiver even though he's a graduate transfer since he's already transferred once. Hazelton transferred to Virginia Tech after starting seven games as a true freshman with Ball State and sat out the 2017 season. "
