Plus:

+Barry's Son: Whether it's points (22), 3's (3/5), defense, steals, or sick passes...it was great performance to say the least.

+Kadji: Another good game for him. 20 points and 3/6 from outside.

+TMJ: 11 points from him and led the team with 3 steals.

+Free Throws: They've been pretty bad at this all year but not tonight. As a team they were 22/30 (73.3%) and made 14 of their first 15. There was a 9 minute stretch in the 1st half when they didn't hit shot from the field. Lots of whistles and made free throws kept us in the lead.

+Team Defense: They held the nations leading scorer, Erik Green, to 16 points. While that doesn't seem low, it ties his lowest output in Conference play.

Minus:

-Refs: While their whistles provided us with points in the 1st half they still sucked. They seemed intent on reminding us they were there all night. Someone must have forgotten to tell them the game wasn't nationally televised.

-Durand Scott: This is a small minus. Just that after a bad loss like the one against Wake, it's pretty disappointing for a senior to be late for a shoot-around. He played ok. He broke our scoreless drought in the 1st half, but still...get a watch.

Funny we seemed to have plays in beginning thinking VT would run same defense past 3 teams have, once we saw they werent hedging Larkin and our pick n roll we just took it to them. I am sure Duke will hedge now as letting Larkin do work is not the best way to win, lol...

I really want to see how we adjust to that because we will need to going forward into tourney

Huge Minus was Reggie. Dude was horrible out there. Can't be playing like that on Sat or in March

He cant even box out and grab a rebound at the moment, seems like we give up alot of second opportunities these last few games...

- Defensive rebounding. VT got way too many offensive rebounds, especially for a smaller team.
- Gamble. He's been regressing back to the old Julian the last month or so.

Totally agree with the Gamble minus...he was the biggest surprise to me throughout the season, but he's started to regress...maybe just tired towards the end of the regular season

I would say this would be a good time to move Reggie back into the starting lineup, but I think we have a good thing going with our 4-5 rotation. If we started Reggie, we wouldn't be able to sub out Reggie and Kadji for Tonye and Julian because we lose our low post scoring...it should be interesting to see how the coaches deal with this. Hopefully, he turns it around and we're able to keep our rotation the same.
