Somehow shuts down one of the most physical and best running teams in college football.
Meanwhile in Coral Gables the d has given up 1600 yards last 3 games

Kind of interesting what a coaching change did for USC, even in the middle of the season.

Well, it was a terrific win as a USC alum but let's not ignore how that game played out in the trenches. Stanford averaged 6 yards per rush compared to less than 1 yard per rush for USC. USC benefitted tremendously from two late interceptions. The entire game I was thinking that USC could only win if Stanford insisted on throwing the ball when they didn't need to, and that's the way it played out. One of the interceptions was at 17-17 on third and goal.

Stanford also missed another short field goal in a tight game, which is becoming a pattern. Shaw turned to a different kicker but he was line drive inept also, just like Williamson, who blew the Fiesta Bowl two years ago and had a low kick blocked and returned for a touchdown against Oregon.

well stop comparing yourself to USC.....they are loaded with 5 star kids...and what was holding them back was their corch. They still have a corch in orgeron but he isnt as controlling as the duck they fired and the kids are just loose..dont think they liked kiffin all to much anyway.

were diff...we have a corch whos bff is the def corch....and flat out have kids playing in a system that the kids dont even believe in on defense.

This season will be the best our two corches have ever had so their laugin their *** to the bank.

USCA has so much more talent than us. This comparison is not even close to being the same.

Their sanctions came down relatively quickly and they have been recruiting well and loaded up right before everything hit. The uncertainty is what has killed our classes.

Not saying coaching doesn't have something to do with it, but it is a completely different situation.

Don't give a **** about USC or Stanford.

Instead of creating different ways to complain about the same thing why not just be transparent and title the thread: Our defense sucks and our quarterback is an inconsistent *****.

Corching change completely re-energized that program. They were walking dead mummies there under *****in. They looked like we look right now.

Orgeron's whole plan was to go back to the way it was under Carroll because he was there with him. Now, they're playing loose and having fun and look like a completely different team. It's amazing what can happen to a program when you dump a corch and completely change the way things were being done under that corch.

spot on, they have been loading up on 5 star talent for over the last decade. They are deep with talent. Remember last year at the beginning of the season they where ranked #1 and predicted by many to win a national championship. They got corched by a dumb ****.

USC is No. 1 in the AP Top 25, tossing off the weight of NCAA sanctions and returning to a familiar place in the rankings.

USC earned the top spot in The Associated Press' preseason college football poll for the seventh time in school history and the first time in five seasons, edging out No. 2 Alabama and No. 3 LSU.

Troy was last ranked No. 1 prior to its third game of the 2008 season. The last time USC entered the season as the preseason No. 1 team was in 2007.

The Trojans, who were banned from postseason play the past two seasons, received 25 of a possible 60 first-place votes from a media panel in a close vote. USC received 1,445 points. Defending national champion Alabama had 17 first-place votes and 1,411 points while LSU, the Crimson Tide's SEC rival, got 16 first-place votes and 1,402 points.

And when *****in was there all we heard were excuses about how they were playing with 50 guys and had no depth and the talent was overrated. Now that Orgeron has them playing well we're hearing about how talented they are.

I could be wrong but last 2 years they have not brought in top 10 classes. They have no depth.
They have some major studs like wr #9 and the DE from Daytona, both of which came here on visits. They also have 10 or so less scholarship players than us due to sanctions. Both programs were .500 last year with Swiss cheese defense.
Both small private schools who have had dominating runs. See many comparisons
Though they got deeper pockets for sure

we are equal with them talent wise when it comes to skill positions but their d line has studs all across their 2 deep
