A bit long for me to summarize completely. It doesn't contain the kind of depth that we're used to around here, but I'd say it's pretty **** good (the author adds some of his optimism re: the team's 2013 fortunes).

Also, it contains this gem:

I stopped reading after this tidbit

— Where Miami (Fla.) fans hang out: The best place to find Miami football chatter is Canes Time. Fans also meet at CaneSports.com, Canespace.com and Miami-Hurricanes.com. Additional coverage can be found at the Web site of The South Florida Sun-Sentinel. And don't forget about Eye on the U, Manny Navarro's blog for The Miami Herald. Two more options: The Palm Beach Post and State of the U.

Well, that was the end of the article.

But good point.

Pretty good write up. Pretty spot on from what seems to be a pretty unbiased opinion. Man I hope D's D steps up this year. And we best not give up more tan 10 points to FAU!! Got dammit!!

Pretty good stuff.

His points about the OL are strange. Center hasn't been decided? He seems to think it's a bad thing that Miami has 6 guys who could start.

I think he whiffed on the reason the D was bad, putting the blame on the secondary which wasn't good but the DL was obviously the biggest problem.

That stuck out to me as well.

But he had a bit of a point. Does someone need to post Kacy Rodgers' highlights from the FSU game last year...? Didn't think so.

We not famous.

" By completely rebuilding the nation's worst defense and ramping up Temple's recruiting"

"As with the Owls, Golden pushed all the right buttons with the Virginia defense, helping the unit improve from 108th nationally in total defense in 2001 to 18th in 2004."

Anyone see a pattern?

To be fair, I don't think we had one unit performed well as a whole. Yes, Bush played well for a freshman and McGee was improved but the secondary struggled. DL did play a major role in that so I see your point.

The writer just doesn't get the value of having an interchangeable offensive line as insurance against injuries and to keep fresh bodies in the game.

That list is pretty impressive but the one position that we are missing is QB i think for the next few years we will be putting in more QBs.... But other wise the tradition will continue with RBs,OL and LBs....
