I’ve watched Zion Harmon play through 6th grade AAU ball till high school and he has so much potential that has not been shown yet.
Zion Harmon is a 6-foot, 185 guard that was one of the best high school basketball players in the state of Kentucky, especially when he was in 8th grade competing in the 17u EYBL on the Nike Circuit.
He was apart of the 2021 class where he was coached by my dad in high school at Adair County and coached him in AAU ball with (WACG).
He then transferred to Marshall County in Kentucky, where he finished out his high school career and committed and signed to in-state school, WKU, despite receiving offers from schools like Kansas and Kentucky.
Zion was rated as the No. 80 player in his grade coming out of high school and the No. 13 point guard in that cycle.
When Harmon arrived at WKU, everything began to go downhill for him. It was reported that he encountered a laced substance early on, which ultimately led to a substance abuse addiction. As a result, he started gaining weight, and sharing distressing videos and photos on his IG and social media platforms.
Harmon was set to get back on track after he signed with Bethune-Cookman before the 2022-2023 season. He had a solid two seasons with the Wildcats, averaging 14.6 points, 2.1 rebounds, and four assists per game. He shot 38.6% from the field and a lower 25.8% from three-point range.
He then transferred to Seton Hall this past season where he didn’t see playing time and was released off the team a week ago.
Miami will probably have a whole new roster next season and I feel like he could be a role or a role player we could get if we need a true point guard. Cause I see future in him.
I know what he has done at the high school level and I know he can do it at the college level but somebody just gotta give him a chance.
