I don't care what you say about talent, these guys are laying their ears back and are very aggressive. Talent only enhances an aggressive defense.
You can take five stars three-deep, and if the DB's are playing ten and fifteen yards off the receivers - you're going to be eaten alive. Look at all the man coverage right at the line. It throws off the timing of even the most experienced and talented receivers.
The linemen are going for the gaps, not standing in place and getting moved at will.
The LB's are aggressive, attacking, and don't lay back giving up ten yard cushions.
Florida graduated or lost to the NFL their previous DL group, but against FSU, we're seeing them giving Jameis a hard time.
Scheme matters. You're either passive or attacking, and all year, we've been passive. Attacking defenses have given our offense problems - some we could overcome, but overall, our offense practices against our defense - and guess what? We have problems on offense!
You are aggressive, you cover a ton of weaknesses - thus our close calls against **** poor teams, because we are passive. A passive defense magnifies somewhat lesser talent, and just looks like a amateur hour out there.
There are aggressive high school teams that would give Miami a hard time.
Due entirely to scheme. Or, should I say, a lack thereof.
