Well I'll put it like this, I asked him if he knew where he wanted to go. The answer I got was different than the second-hand info I heard through his sister that I posted on here before. I believe his thinking has changed more than his sister misinforming me. Basically he says he wants to stay home but he owes it to himself to seriously weigh his options. He knows that for him personally, there is no bad situation football wise. He's confident that he can make an immediate impact anywhere. It's a three horse race between Us, UGA & Bama and since I heard him say he wants to stay home, I would say that we hold the lead but the competition is pulling out all the stops. I spoke with his dad for a while, and he reiterated that this is Tyson's choice alone and he'd support him wherever he goes. But he made it clear that Tyson is gonna do his due diligence to be sure he won't regret his decision in retrospect. I believe that Richt & staff will deliver the pitch necessary to keep him here...

The impression I get from the way TC's recruitment has played out thus far is that he's one of those kids that is looking for a reason to go anywhere other than Miami. We see it every year, and it always seems to play out the same way with Miami missing out. At least TC has handled his recruitment with class, so you can't fault the kid if he does choose somewhere other than Miami.

You can certainly fault the staff though. IF we miss on TC, PS2, AS2, and Jobe, that is just inexcusable. IF we land either of TC or PS2, all is good though.

All that said, other than the fact that it would send the message that Miami still can't keep the "must get" kids at home, I'm not getting all bent out of shape over a CB. Our issues at QB, OL, and DL are far more important. We can sign a full class of TC caliber CBs and Safeties and it won't mean a dang thing if we don't get right at QB, OL, and DL.

Since we're all making assumptions about stuff we really don't know anything about since it's a dead period and we wanna over react to every single article, I'll join in on the fun.

Someone made a point a month ago that has stuck with me involving TC's recruitment: there has always been Miami.

It started with Clemson. Then Ohio State. Now it's on to Georgia as the trendy pick. Miami has always been there. It's where Nesta is going (I still believe). Good chance Chatfield comes here. He's tight with Harley and Bandy. I think Miami will outlast, and until Rattler/Pete give us bad vibes I will still have faith he comes.

At least we have 3 elite recruits. Just too bad they all play offense (Lo, Pope, Brevin). Might even get a visit from Petit-Frere.

It's just weird we aren't doing well on the defensive side with the big names. I like our DB class as is, I'd give it an 8 out of 10. But missing on all this elite talent really sucks. We mishandled the Samuel and Jobe recruitments. Our DL recruiting, as it stands, isn't good at all. And we put all our chips in the Joyner basket at LB.

Offensive and defensive recruiting is really night and day. Maybe, just maybe, Richt let's Manny have a free reign to identify and recruit the defensive talent? Or maybe Manny sucks and thinks he's the smartest guy in the room, as that random ACC coach alluded to, and kids don't want to play for him. I'm just trying to understand how one side is doing so well and one isn't (not counting the DB haul. It's very good. Not great though.)
