Main competition for local guys is Free Shoes U.. and they appear to be in disaray with coaches leaving and players, if the didn’t leave early, are publicly complaining. We don’t have to point it out --- the recruits can figure it out themselves. Just show ‘em the difference.
On the weekend of the 18th, why not have all the recruits come into the meeting room and have Al speak to ‘em AS A GROUP. Let them know he doesn’t say one thing to one guy, and something different to another. Show ‘em how we are just ‘on the cusp’ of something great. Let ‘em know AS A GROUP how we need ‘em AS A GROUP, and if we succeed, they will be competing in BCS & Playoff games, AS A GROUP.
Then bring in the coup d’grace ---- Morris, the Duke, Lockhart, Wells, M. Lewis, Isadora, Felicano, A. Crawford, McCord, Grimbel Kirby, Terry, Bush, Jenkins and Howard. Put them up front. All AS A GROUP. These guys know & trust our players. They grew up playing together. Let ‘em ask any questions they want of their homeboys. Let ‘em know that this is not a bunch of ‘recruiting coachspeak’. Let ‘em know first hand of the opportunities here. Let ‘em know what they think of Al.
Let the Mamas & Papas sit in the back and watch. Remember, they know many of our players, too, 'cause their sons played with them.
