Two names to watch

Lol Jobe gone huh Pete?

Pete, already said he expects Jobe to decommit tonight

Where did he say that?

Nevermind, I saw it on the Jobe thread...carry on. This really sucks though man, Jobe really played all of us. The coaching staff, Duasso, Pete and the rest of us for so **** long and Satan just comes in at the last minute and snatches him away. Yeah we still have big time DB targets on the board and have a great group coming in as well but make no mistake about it losing Jobe sucks and is a huge loss/disappointment. Gotta look forward and roll with who we got though. Hope CMR and the boys finish strong!

The film I saw of Samuel last year seemed more in zone, cover 3 like pops. So I just stereotyped him a cov 3 guy. But this film shows him up in dudes faces pressing and he also plays physical for his size . I'm a lot more impressed with this film. I still like surtain and Campbell more but he's definitely a take.

I just prefer bigger cb. With Bandy and Malik I was hesitant on us taking another smallish cb (like my opinion matters). But if you can cover , you can cover .

I remember on CBS I laughed at FSU when they brought in 5'8 Lamarcus Joyner and talked about how Laron Byrd (6'4) abuse him. To this day I've learned my lesson. If he can play, then get him.

For the most part I don't like living and dying with small cb out wide, but there's always exceptions ( Bandy,Joyner).

Brandon Flowers, Janoris Jenkins etc etc.

It's all about the hips, not the size of the CB. Give me guys that can flip their hips and run with guys who don't mind putting a hat on a hat.

I think Jenkns s 5"11, that's plenty tall. I'm talking more 5'8-5'9 . Around there .

Samuel looks taller than I thought he was , people always talked like dude was super tiny.

Remember months ago back when people like me were telling yall that Asante Jr was the best pure Cover Corner in the 2018 class & a bunch of yall would say I was crazy, or that it was Jobe/Surtain & it's not even close?

Yeah, well... Here we are.

I was with u bruh u know it, that boys hips and feet are ridiculous

Here we are looking at your choice as a backup for someone we aren't getting? What is your point here exactly?
That myself & others was saying early on that he was better Cover Corner than he had been getting credit for.

And also that Jobe isn't the be all end all that he was hyped up to be.

Jobe is a great Safety to me, Asante at Corner has more potential then Jobe at corner (assuming hes a corner at the bama klux)

They need to let me be on staff next year once I retire just to keep up with the board . This board puts out a lot elite targets and I’ll do it for free

Liberty and Gogeta know guys early, they even know if the kids a baller while he is swimming to the egg.............facts

I'll take a dog like Samuel any day of the week over that camp warrior Kaindoh's Kuck. Fck the height issue. Samuel will cover your *** and force QBs to make perfect throws to beat his lack of height.

U was right Chise he was flaky bruh u was right on the money

I know most on this board will say he’s a good coach. If Rumph whiffs on Jobe, Samuels, Campbell, and Surtain then he’s a MASSIVE failure as a recruiter. He needs to be replaced or the 10th coaching spot has to go to a Stud recruiter. There’s no excuse with the type of success and hype UM has had for only Ivey (albeit he maybe underrated) and Blades to be the top CBs in this class. You add in that Rumph coached 2 of these kids and it magnifies the problem.
The staff is crazy if they aren’t recruiting Wilson with who we have committed. They better know a lot of somethings we don’t. UM needs at least 3 press corners for this defense to be elite. Only landing 1 of the top 6 CBs in South FL is unacceptable. Add in the fact the only one is a legacy lock.
We’ll see what happens. It’s still way early to start calling for heads. However, there’s definitely reasons to be concerned if Jobe flips. This has to be the easiest year for UM coaches to recruit probably ever. FSU and UF both have new staffs, we have brand new facilities, and the God**** Turnover Chain!!!

Wouldn't mind seeing one of the current commits moving to Safety and us taking Asante Jr in place of Jobe.

But tbh right now I'm just assuming that in this class we aren't getting Jobe, Campbell, or Surtain...and guess what our DB class is still great. And if we do land those 3 or just 2 or even just 1, **** it I'm happy.

That still doesn’t mean the staff hasn’t whiffed big time if they don’t land 2 more of these studs. I didn’t know Banda was heading Jobe’s recruitment. Who’s heading the recruitment of Samuels, Surtain, and Campbell?

The only way I feel better about losing Jobe is if we get either Samuel Jr/Campbell or Campbell/Surtain Jr or all 3. If we only get one of the 3 mentioned it won't soften the blow. Losing Jobe is big time. He is an elite talent and a plug and play type. Lets not sugar coat this.

That said, Samuel Jr is a tough little **** and is a great cover corner and if he was 6'0 would be the #1 DB in the country.

We weren’t even in the picture for Surtain and Samuels until recently. I think that speaks more to Rumph not giving up on kids and grinding til the end. Your original post is the only failure.

Rumph's not even the guy recruiting Jobe but you're giving him the L. Meanwhile he's active in recruiting Nesta Silvera, but not getting credit for the win. C'mon man.

And speaking of press corners, isn't Samuel Jr. more of an off-coverage guy? I will defer to the STA guys, but his highlights certainly indicate he's not in press coverage too often. I know he's more of a gamer and willing tackler than his size would indicate, but I don't recall seeing him up in press coverage very often.

Back to Rumph, if he gets Frierson, Ivey, Campbell, and Silvera in, I consider that a solid contribution from him as a recruiter. And if Rumph can flip Samuel or Surtain late in the game on top of that, it would be a very strong haul. Stack that on top of his coaching/developmental skills and I don't see how people keep complaining about him so loudly.

Is that you're a know it all. And I'll take LCE contribution over anything your negative *** has to say.

So this definitely means Jobe is really gone huh? **** shame, kid's been committed to The U since June of 2015 and after all that he's gonna flip to Bama and Coach Satan. Huge disappointment, huge loss. No other way to put it.

Lol is it a huge loss.. Guy could be another injury bug, guy could be maxed out. But hey let's use the he's a 5 star talent from Miami we cannot lose out on him.. No way.. Let's all go change our will and life insurance policies.
