I used to think this was simply a message to the team to buy in. This now seems to be a message for the fans.

This is a refresher course because many of you forgot where we have been:

Miami’s history since our last BCS game (2004-2012)

Overall W/L: 66-46
Post Season Record: 2-4 (Last Bowl Appearance 2010)
Average # of Losses/Per Season: 5.1
Last Bowl Win: MPC Computer Bowl (2006)
ACCCG Appearances: Zero
ACC Conference Championships: Zero (our basketball team has one)

Talk about **** stats, we’re averaging over 5 losses per year since our last BCS game. Not to mention we have that big ordeal with the NCAA. There is not a lot for fans to be happy about, but now we’re in 2013.

Miami’s 2013 Season (in a nutshell)

6-0 (First time since 2004, in 2004 we lost our 7th game to UNC)
8 Game winning streak (We won 8 straight in 2005, we lost our 9th game to Georgia Tech)
Win over our rival UF
Bowl Eligible (this early)

Maybe it has been so long since we have had success that we have forgotten what it feels like and can’t enjoy that success. Maybe our fans are predisposed to being mopes and want to be depressed. But with everything going on above and where we are now, how can you not enjoy the win? Why do you feel the need to b.itch within 24 hours of a close win? Would you rather lose 23-20? I think people understand there are issues and we can’t keep winning the game turning the ball over so many times. UNC came to play and put on their best performance, we stopped them and took the game. Our best offensive weapon goes down (on pace to run for over 300), our starting WR and S are out…we stayed with it, we won the game. We are coming home with the W. On their big night, they left crying. We left with the W.

Just enjoy the win. What is clear as day is the anti-Al and anti-D crowd choose to make an appearance during a close win because they had micro-erections and wanted to put them to some use (they have not used them since before the season). This crew has been dying all year to get on that soap-box and shout “I TOLD YOU SO.”

Now I know some of you have legit gripes and don’t have an agenda, I respect that. There are issues (namely QB play), yet we are overcoming them. We all can see some of the issues and we need to work them out before FSU.

Stop saying we're not a top 10 team, stop saying we should have lost, stop saying we don't deserve it because we f.ucking do deserve it. We have been dormant for too long, we deserve this now.

So now we won and we get to watch a bunch of teams lose this weekend. Sit back, try to relax and trust the process. The game is not won and lost on the message boards, so try to relax.

Here is my final thought: We have played 6 games, we are 6-0. There is no better way you can start in the record department.

Any good celebration stories last night?

How many people took cyanide?

Your prospective is refreshing, unfortunately too many people have drank the cool aid and continue to find the glass half empty.

I wait all year for the season to get here and it has been a long time since we had success. The porsters can't take it away, the porsters can't win.

Our fan base is incredibly dumb and made up of mopes, we can pick our program but we cannot pick the fan base that "supports" them.

What ya gonna do, people cannot appreciate where this program has come, for the U to be 6-0, excitement, great recruiting class and at worst " on the way back", this does not happen overnight, like Al says and you reiterated it for fans, it is a process, bottom line we won the game and all our hopes are alive.

I know many people think this game against Wake Forest is irrelevant but there is a lot one the line. I am not talking about winning the ACC Coastal and getting to the ACCCG either.

If we beat Wake Forest, we will be 7-0. The last time we went 7-0 was 2003.

If we beat Wake Forest, we will have won our 9th straight game. The last time we won 9 straight games was 2003-2004 when we won 10 straight.

Win, improve, get healthy and move on.

By far the best post!!!

Good stuff, Consig! I feel exactly the same way. Let the agenda driven dopes and dullards continue to root against our Canes as they will be more miserable than normal. Al is 6-0 with a young team that he has put together despite facing down the barrel of the NCAA's bazooka. I couldn't be more proud of the team and the staff!

I hate you for being happy!

I changed my Canes gear twice last night. I went to three different bars because of bad juju. I finally went to the house for the fourth quarter because it was obvious the football gods weren't going to allow a Canes victory with me out and about last night.

So... you all are welcome.
