Peter,

I read the recruiting update and one thing stuck out, Treon Harris. You say most think he is not a D1 QB but his teamates (alot of whom we are recruiting) that respect him and would go a long way in recruiting them, primarily Big 6.

In your opinion, are we trying a little BTW Coup like we did in '08 with MNW? While I don't think we promise THarris QB playing time, do you think we offer him a ship and a shot at QB just to get the others or is our space to limited?

Next year's class won't really be limited space-wise. I would take every single one of those BTW kids, package deal or not. If Harris is insistent on playing QB, I would give him the shot to try it out and if not then move him to DB, like should have been done with Shoelace. There's no harm done if he doesn't work out at QB, his talent is good enough that he can work out at another position.

Treon Harris isn't even remotely Miami-caliber at QB from what I can tell, but I don't see any harm in bringing him in as a QB and moving him to DB later on like AJ Highsmith. I don't think he's as good a prospect as Brandon Harris was but he easily has enough quickness and football savvy to warrant an offer.

The kid could be d3 material idk what I am asking is do you think the coaches will offer him a schollie just to haul these other kids in?

I think they would, but he is Miami caliber IMO so I don't think that's the case here

I dont see this coaching staff offering someone a scholly jus to get another player, jus look at last year how that turned out with Keith Brown and his brother, who was one of the top LBs in the nation, so I dont think theyd do all that over a QB turned DB

Treon is athletic enough to be a cb or slot wr here...has nothing to do with the other guys at btw.

in defense of that browns brother was no where near miami level at any position he played. in this case this kid has the goods to be miami material in our secondary.

I was just about to post what dwreck27 said. Lamar Atkins (Keith's Brother) was not Miami caliber. Harris is Miami caliber so there is no harm here

This, just get the kid to campus and let things sort out.

Lets see what the NCAA has to say about that, Broseph. I am not optimistic.

It won't be limited compared to this year's class, sanctions or not
