As per Travis' twitter. He sat with James Franklin and Coach Gattis from VU, today. Don't think there's a chance he flips, but Franklin is proving to be a hellova recruiter and coach.

Travis Johnson is more of a recieving threat than overall TE. He was listed as one of top WR on ESPN watchlist last year. I think he is going to be a major weapon on the outside as much as he is off the line.

I think the kid can develop into a receiving threat for sure how long will it take I dunno he defiantly needs a redshirt year IMO. Maybe Vanderbilt told him he could compete right away in there spread and split him out wide.

As long as we get 17 great kids on signing day that fill needs I won't worry about it.
In AL I trust!

Let him spend more than 3-4 hours with Franklin and he will regret his decision. I live in Nashville and one of Franklin's coaches is a patient and is currently hoping to move on to another school asap. Why? Because he feels that Franklin is the biggest self promoter he has ever met and is tired of him running his mouth. As for Vandy promoting academics, give me a break. Most of the football players attend Peabody College, a school within the Vanderbilt structure and have little to no contact with the Vandy students. It's been a source of contention within Vanderbilt for years, but players don't have the same academic standards and the only similarity is the diploma say's Vanderbilt, it's a farce.

My wife is a grad from Vandy, and still has alot of friends enrolled or finishing up. Those kids are in the classroom, just the same, busting thier *** to get a top notch education. Doesn't really matter how you feel, tho. At the end of the day, their diploma is still going to "say" Vanderbilt on it. And that will start you out at about $80,000/year. Same thing with a Miami degree, as long as it says it on the diploma, you can pretty much pick your job.
