I know GT was in mostly 2 WR sets - but I saw Gunter, McGee, & Finnie.
Howard was on ST's though. Any reason why?

I would think his physical nature would have fit well against GT. Maybe he's still in the ole D'Onofrio doghouse.

Golden said he wanted to limit freshman play against GT for some reason, more than most games. Who knows?

From internet rumors and analysis of some article where he was interviewed, if he ever was in the doghouse he is on his way out now. If any of this stuff is true in the first place.

It's great to see where Eddie Johnson is after he was mentally wearing down in fall camp.

Love Golden's approach.... push these kids to the absolute limit physically and mentally and then know when to back off and let them loose.

JJ anyone?

Needed more physical CBs in that game. GT has big physical WRs who are very good run blockers and like to cut block as well. Not to best game to throw out freshman corners.

There is a big difference between being physical with WR's at the LOS and coming up and tackling 205 lb+ running backs all game. I'm sure he would have been up the challenge, but I was all for seeing more experienced guys play in this game. CB's are asked to do a lot against GT.

Judging by his mom's effusive tweet in support of Al Golden, i highly doubt Howard is on his way out. lol.

I meant on his way out of the doghouse. If he was ever even in there in the first place, which is definitely a possibility but still to be taken with a large grain of salt.

Yea McGee is playing very well right now and Finnie doesn't make mistakes. That leaves the nickel spot open and Gunter is a bigger corner who seems to be more physical. Tracy will have to wait his turn and continue to get bigger and polish his game.

For the first time in forever though, we seem to be above average at corner.

mcgee had arguably his best game of the season. great tackles and great recoveries. two years ago he would have quit on the long run up the left side. he was on the right and raced to the other side to stop the runner at about the 5. great effort.

We went with our senior CB, and Gunter who is a JUCO kid no? I don't expect Howard to get a lot of burn in a game against a team like GT because they barely ever throw. McGee, Finnie and Gunter are all good tacklers so it made sense to have them out there.

Its not a knock against Howard but he's a freshman at a position where we have 3 solid corner with more experience. He'll get his because he's only going to get better.
