When is the last time we ended a season ranked?

Looks like we finish in the top 25 this year.

#24 Temple lost to WF
#23 Pitt lost to NW
and we just beat #16 WV

Being in the top 25 is the difference between being mentioned on ESPN and not being mentioned.

We should end up ranked but I will not hold my breath

Not only should we be ranked at the end of the season, but preseason polls should have us at the very least a Top 17 team with all that talent returning on defense, an improving offensive line with one of the more explosive Running backs in the country, and at worst a Top 15 recruiting class.

Now if Kaaya somehow changes his mind and decides to stay, we have potentially a Top 10 preseason team.

It's important enough that Richt mentioned how good it is for the program during his post game interview with ESPN. It's all about national perception. Being ranked is a selling point to recruits these next couple months. Big picture...

UM, at 9-4 and with five wins in a row, deserves to be there after beating a 10-2 team that entered 16th in the country.

Yea I get it, I guess I don't think there should be a thread on it. I also guess that I never heard a recruit commit because to a team because it was ranked 20th.

This matters more than y'all think. Perception is reality. Perception this year carries to next year. If want to be legit contenders and come in with some smoke, a top 20 finish this year is a must. I think we will be top 15 pre-season next year. Could even be top 10 if Kaaya comes back. We have some dudes coming back...

What troubles me most is Pittsburgh was ranked no. 23 although we destroyed them last month. **** those voters.
