done w swasey keep him in for speed and conditioning and bring in a strength guy as a co-SnC coach bc we need to get bigger and bigger fast...u can easily see the difference in size from sc and lsu and us...

So you can clearly see a difference between a .500 team and two elite programs?

You don't say.

well its obvious theyre elite and were not but this has been the case for a number of years not just this...sorry if its brought up again im just still ****ed off at yesterdays game along with the ND debacle and trust me i spent 600 bucks on that chicago trip and go to every home game so i am a real fan and an alum. it does hurt when it feels like a waste of time and money

Weak in the trenches is a trend going on 8 years now. I'd say going back to 2003 Fiesta really, but its ok people here will rude Swasey's **** till he dies. The one common denominator.

I can see the strength improvements in our team as a result of u-tuff. The young dline needs two seasons of u-tuff. Nothing wrong with swasey.

i hope ur right...spoke to a player from the 03-07 teams and he told me swasey was great for speed adn conditioning but was not a guy whos gonna put on straight up strength
disclaimer: not blaming any of the young guys for being pushed around they should not be playing if the team was constructed better under the previous regime or if half our juniors didnt bolt (forston, vernon) last year

Or maybe were not getting the talent they are. Clowney & Latimore were day 1 SEC impact players. So was the true frosh RB for LSU that ran wild last night. So was Patrick Peterson who we couldn't hold on to. Funny Swasey knew what he was doing in 2001 I guess.

moffit was the SnC guy before swasey (swasey was co-SnC i think in moffits last year) so i wouldnt say he built the 01 team to what it was...that was butch and moffit

I think your right about that. The strength & conditioning program is vital but the point I'm trying to make is a strength coach looks like a guru when he has a bunch of Andre Johnson, MaGahee, & DJ William's on the roster. As opposed to what we been working with the last 8yrs.

Although I have seen alot of our upper classman out of pads & it makes you wonder if their lifting at all.

Golden changed the direction of the strength program, is recruiting bigger guys in general, and got the admin to invest in a nutritionist. They younger guys look the part, and I dont think we are getting pushed around like everyone thinks we are. Lets give this some time, I think our recruiting woes from 09 and 10 are well documented, and thats what we are suffering from. We will be elite again when we have talented juniors and seniors starting and have at least one elite talent on the D-line.
