It's been out for a few days now that LSU is no longer recruiting him, but I have a quick note to add.

Got info from a source last night who told me that LSU has meetings set up with the kids with offers who they are actively recruiting, and as of right now, Williams is not on that list for an in-home visit/face-to-face meeting.

I have stated throughout the process that I was worried LSU would come in near the end and snatch him up, but with the news that came out last week and this confirmation I got last night, it seems as though it truly will come down to FSU and Miami with the Canes holding the lead at the moment. Williams is tentatively scheduled to visit Miami in January.

obviously dont follow LSU recruiting as hard as some....

but are the other DE/DT recruits the tigers are targeting that much better/higher on their board their willing to pass up one right in state??

Open question: If you were Golden and all 5 of Bryant, Bostwick, Bond, Hooks and Williams wanted in, but you could only take 3 due to scholarship limits, which 3 would you take?

Bryant, Hooks, Bond imo. Williams needs a year to get bigger to make a difference (see McCord).

And honestly, I think this is something we're seriously going have to face.

I don't know.

Thing is, this self-deprivation of scholarships is somewhat fluid, especially if you're only talking about one or two busting the "bank."

Williams has pretty much been a mystery on all aspects. Is it a lack of interest in Williams part, grades, talent, LSU's DE class being filled, off the field stuff? LSU doesn't usually let its top recruits in LA go this easy. Unless the kid just really doesn't want to go to LSU, but it would be hard to believe he wouldn't keep LSU in consideration and I'm sure his parent/parents feel the same way.

Kind of getting sick of everyone jocking LSU and trying to let them make our recruiting decisions for us. **** them. They make plenty of mistakes. I dont give a **** what they think of Williams. In Al I trust.

Agree with that, bomb. Les Miles is no Saban. But specifically to Williams, we have a trade-off situation where he can be a superstar in 2-3 years, but we need rush ends NOW. So if you're AG, do you go with Bond who is game ready for 2013?

I have a co-worker that is a big LSU honk who just told me the same thing that LSU is no longer after Williams...Also stated that the kid has some issues i.e. a headcase take it for what it's worth

I wouldn't be too worried about him being a headcase. If it's not already there, somebody needs to put the fact that he's not only playing for himself, but also his kid, in his head.

LMAO @ the notion of LSU not taking a kid because he is a head case. GTFOH.

Also the more I watch Williams, he isn't the freak athlete McCord is but he does look a bit more physically ready. He could be ready to play next year.

By headcase, they mean someone who doesn't want to suck at the teet that is LSU football automatically.

If you've followed LSU somewhat over the last few years, a guy being a headcase is not going to deter them in the slightest.
