Thought this was apropos to Miami too....

great story but dude didn't really have many offers better than tennessee (judging by his 247 recruiting profile). maybe michigan / penn state? but no clemson, no bama, no ohio state, no georgia, etc.

think the dad is just trying to get some attention

Doesn’t matter. The message is the same. It may not 100% apply to his kid but his premise is 100% and one I respect

Had an offer from the good guys...

Pretty much. Had Bama, UGA, or Ohio State come calling, would he have gone to Tennessee?

The rest of college football is trying to catch up to literally a handful of teams. The message here is louder as they're having a special year, but that same statement could be made by a star players father on many teams.

Props though to pops for the statement though. Boy is shining and it's seemingly coming together up there. That team is doing some things for sure. Better than he or his son imagined I'd think.

As for us and the rest looking to jump up, you need multiple guys to buy in. Perhaps this is the class that works towards that.

Mario will earn a huge cut of his paycheck by keeping together and adding to a program changing class, after what's looking like a lackluster season.
Agreed for sure. But let’s be honest on the bolded part. Looking like?

Brother it was looking like a lackluster season against Southern Miss and Texas aTm.

We’re way past lackluster and way into despair.

Nah brother. He had a Clemson offer. He was also ranked 114th and the 19th best WR in the country by 247. It wasn’t like he’s some 3 star nobody.

He was highly ranked. The nitpicking is he didn’t have offers from the schools the dad stated. But his point stands.
