if one of these two have a big year this year does anyone else think that they can be the x factor on the offense. im not talking huge but just a streeter like year.

My head will explode if we run some kind of double reverse where they both touch the ball on the same play.

I want both of these guys to do well because it would prove that they both had the talent but were poorly coached and developed.

If either has "just a streeter like year", that would be huge. Having listened to Golden, I have more expectations for Thompkins than Johnson because he is a solid route-runner. But both could do very well under Fisch's game planning. They don't need to be superstar athletes to get reps. If they know their routes, block well, catch well, they're going to get the ball. My SWAG would be 400 yards for KT, 200 for DJ.

Will be VERY surprised if they do anything other than ST plays. We need playmakers, just don't see it from them.

Why not? Other than the fact they've blown every opportunity to shine, I can't see why anyone would doubt their abilities. :D But seriously, both know there are no tomorrows and sometimes that is the good, swift kick in the *** a kid needs to finally figure it out. Bobby Byrd, I honestly don't remember k9. :) But I could see one of them having an Andre King or Aaron Moser like presence. :p

Sometimes a senior will finally figure it out. Leon Washington comes to mind. But for every one of him there are a bunch that do nothing. I hope they both shine because if they do, it would definitely mean good things for the team. I don't really have any expectations though. They have to prove it at this point.

If they combine for more than 5 catches on the season, we should all throw them an ice cream party.

Genn, Byrd was #12 during the days of 'the Ruthless Posse', got some garbage time PT in 91

Couldnt it just mean that they weren't better than streeter or benjamin? That seems like the easiest explanation. I wouldnt be so quick to throw these guys in the trash heap especially because it doesnt bode well for our team. If anybody is going to struggle more in games than in practice it's usually a freshman. We're probably going to be counting on these guys to an extent. Certainly my midseason they may be supplanted farquharson-style but it doesnt bode well if we're saying that guys in our 2 deep have no hope of contributing.
