Looking for some insights into this years kicking game. It's my belief, that we will end up in some tight games where the kicking game will be crucial to winning. Thanks in advace.

Not a fan of Goudis whatsoever. On that note W/O Fr. Jonathan Semerene could kick a submarine out of water. You should look him up on YouTube kids got a **** of a leg.

Looks like he'll be doing kickoffs at least. Would love to see him try a 65 harder at the end of a half. I wonder if he's having some problems, because it sure sounds like Goudis is. I'd have thought he'd have been passed up by now.

That fade would work very well on a number of holes at Augusta National.

Unfortunately, I think it's the least of our worries. "Close, tight" games? Maybe against Cincy or Arky St, or UVA. But unless our defense and offense do a total 180 and improve by light years, FGs aren't gonna matter. Jesus could have been kicking last year, and it wouldn't have made a difference.

If we kicked a FG on every posession last year, we end up 9-4.

Why is everyone in such a panic about Gouda? He did a pretty good job his first year kicking.

And Semerene has a cannon. He should help tremendously on kickoffs.

Goudis was 13-17 last year, but for some reason, it seemed like he was worse.

Actually that course favors a draw off the tee. Or a lefty fade. Especially a lefty fade. The new massive drivers are easier to fade consistently, which provides a Masters edge to lefties like Phil and Bubba.

Anyway, I don't expect our kicking game to be stellar this season but we can partially counter with returns and blocks. Young aggressive defensive backs are ideal off the edge to thump field goals. And I hope we don't concede to punt block coverage. The formations now in vogue allow easy access to the blocking wall. You can't assume those guys are competent due to sheer numbers. I saw an incredible number of mistakes last season that weren't exploited.
