Why is this logic allowed to be spewed without retort? What does entering the ACC 10 yrs/ 3 coaches ago have to do with 2014 canes?! This would only make sense if Coker was still here. These idiots refer to that drought like the canes are an NFL team with a stubborn owner. Fact is we've made changes hasn't worked out yet. But until Golden goes backwards give him a chance. Now, if we go 5-7 I'd fire him but Blake won't.

We have been mediocre for over a decade. I'm as optimistic as anyone about 2014 but I'm just being a big homer. Why the **** should things be any different this season?

The only reason I pay attention to the Coastal (or anything ACC) is where it gets us in the playoff format - a bracket spot for an NC opportunity. Other than that I am meh about being Coastal champs en route to ACC champs per se.

In fact, the effect of Miami being in the ACC is like kryptonite. We were supposed to be stomping it, play FSU every year on the other division, and go on to making a run at an NC. Instantly we were medi-coker.

Winning a conference to me was for the everyone else in CFB....the plodding Big 10 teams happy to be 9-3 dreamt of the the Rose Bowl as going to heaven. Not us. Not Miami. Always a national title shot or if not - then whatever, we'll take it out on somebody in our bowl game.

I miss that stuff. Please let it be that this year we begin to climb out of the doldrum of the past 10 years.

Because the 2014 canes are still coached by guys that haven't won the coastal?

The coastal isn't exactly the SEC either. All we have to do is beat a VT team that we usually have more talent than and average programs like UNC, GT, UVa. Its unbelievable how much we have underachieved.

OK fair enough, but answer me this. Do you bring up the rich history when talking about the Canes today?
 
it's frustration compounded with reality.

we haven't won it. we should have won it. we need to win it (in order to reach ACCCG)

Regrettably, we are more than a decade removed from not caring about conference titles, bc the only concern was national titles.

Except that we're the only coastal team that has to play FSU every year. That's a huge disadvantage for us compared to our coastal foes.

LOL! And it will be a Golden success story if we are in the top 4 in the Coastal in 2014. We won't be in the top 3, guaranteed. Golden knows that. That is why he tried to bolt)
 
LOL! The UL game means we have two GUARANTEED losses before the Coastal even starts for us. Chalk up VT, and we are 3 losses behind the 8 ball. The chances of GT and UNC both losing to us again are remote. That POS London will need a win over Miami to save his 4-8 season and keep his job. Loss. Maybe we can get by Duke and Pitt?


4-4, ACC. 5-3 will be a miracle. (and land us in thrid place in the Coastal again)
 
"Talent Infusion"? LOL! Free Shoes and Muschump have absolutely embarrassed Golden for three years staright now, and so has anyone else who wants a local kid (LSU, por example)


He tried to bolt, to the only school that would even take his phone call (a courtesy, they spit on him faster than the Razorbacks spat on Radio's application to be DC, LOL!)

Recruiting. LOL! After the "Radio 2010 but worse" season coming up, we won't even be able to fill out a roster in 2015.
 
Are we somehow implying Al Golden is a better coach than Larry Coker? Because that is explicitly false.

Golden has had his chance.

He can't recruit, he can't develop, and he can't evaluate a staff.

The funny part is that people are saying "Come ahn give him a chance!" And if we go 7-5 or worse (we will), they'll be saying the same thing at the end of the season.

2014 Canes: 3rd or 4th place in the Coastal.
