This story on Chudzinski sounds awfully familiar(2002)

This paragraph is full of hyperbole:

When Chudzinski walked into Carolina in 2011, he had a set of personnel which included a stable of talented backs, one great deep threat in Smith and a good one in Brandon LaFell, a solid tight end in Greg Olsen and a young quarterback in Cam Newton who throws a good deep ball.

Steve Smith plays hard, but is prone to say and do goofy things. This just adds to the list.

Chuds 1st year at OC here was 2001 and he really was on top of his game, it seemed in 2002 that Larry started getting more involved in play calling and Chud started looking elsewhere and we all know what happened next.

Agree. This is the worst logic and makes me question Smith's intelligence. So, Chud ignored the assets he had at his disposal to show that he instead could develop and call innovative plays that were, in Smith's mind, less effective?!? Why on earth would Chud do this? If anything, an owner would downgrade this approach from a prospective coach, since this type of behavior would suggest that the coordinator is unwilling to adapt his play calls to the personnel on hand.

I am not a Panthers fan, so this is a guess, but I assume that the principal issue is that the Panthers' personnel underperformed.

BS... if their offense was worse, it would have hurt his coaching chances
