But I highly doubt David Thompson ever takes a snap here. Talking to people very close to him, they say he will focus on baseball only here.

He probably had more potential at QB than Dewey and Crow.... but he is going to be 2 far behind to catch up with those guys. And Kevin Olsen is going to put everybody on the back seat after he redshirts his freshman year.

Yea I like him more than Dewey or Crow personally.

And yes that will open up a spot

Good. We need better baseball players and we need the extra schollie. Errrbody wins.

I would rather take Thompson and have Crow or Dewey transfer. But this doesn't really come as much of a surprise.

Better baseball player than a football player. The competition at QB is over *hopefully* for the next two seasons, meaning he'd have to beat out a senior Ryan Williams, two redshirt sophomores in Dewey and Crow, and a redshirt freshmen in Kevin Olsen. This is a good decision all-around, and our baseball team definitely needs talented guys focusing on baseball.

doubt/hope Williams is ever a starter.

looks like Morris is our guy for the next 2 years for better or worse

Kevin Olsen being in the fold pretty solidly and the promise of some chatter already about some 2014/2015 QB prospects makes this just fine with me. I would have liked to have seen what Thompson could do on the football field, but we need high-caliber talent on the diamond as well.

Dorsey was good as a fresh IIRC. They threw him into the fire in Blacksburg while Kenny Kelly, I think, was stinking it up and we were losing. Pretty sure we still lost, but I remember Dorsey playing well and kinda getting us back in the game.

I am fine with Thompson focusing on baseball. Dewey or Crow could still end up being guys we can go to if needed when they are upperclassmen IMO. It's pretty harsh to pass judgement on them based on what they've done here so far. But besides that, Olsen should be the guy hopefully whenever Morris and Williams are gone. And by then we'll have another top QB recruit or 2 in the fold for the future.

Actually we were winning. The score was 10-7. One of our backs fumbled in our territory. Kenny hurt his shoulder trying to make the tackle and I believe the game ended 43 or so to 10. Dorsey as you might expect was eaten alive.

We were so thin at QB position for years, and now we are with a good depth, with coaches just taking one this year, people are already betting which of the Dewey or Crow will transfer... without even a year of practice!?! Go figure...

why waste a scholarship on someone that everyone knew was NEVER going to play football for The U? we could have used the ship in an area of need. someone please explain...
