The biggest knock on Jaquan are his measurables, and they aren't going to improve. About the most he can do is add some weight and strength, but he's not getting taller, and he's not getting faster.

He's having an All-American type year and has demonstrated on a weekly basis the type of elite instincts you can't teach. How much is draft stock really going to improve ? I think his ceiling is round 3 (just bc of NFL stubborness when it comes to size), no matter how much he balls out this year or next. I think he should stay (for selfish reasons), but I certainly would understand if he left.

People worrying about lb make me laugh. We go 9 deep in 2018, and that's not counting gordiniere and McCray..

The real need is at DE. The top 4 is set but we need to find 3-4 backups, especially since both Jacksons are gone after 2018.

I have a funny feeling that tyreic will move to chad Thomas' position, to go with Chatfield and Rousseau.

You don't recruit for the next season. People worried about linebacker are thinking about 2019, not 2018. Living paycheck to paycheck isn't the move in college football. You can get burned badly with that approach.

This. We've been burned too many times thinking like this. And smh at anyone who brings up numbers proving that we have plenty of depth. Gordiner, McCray are JAGS. Perry, Owens, Smith are all decent players but they are JRs and one might argue that they shouldn't be getting THAT many snaps. Plus, those guys don't play much STs. LBs are critical for STs units - only Jennings and Wilder do it. Wilder is extremely raw, Steed has been banged up and who knows about Jennings. I agree we don't need 3-4 LBs but I think 2-3 is the right number unless you KNOW 2 of them are going to be solid.

I love him to death and his improved play the last 4 weeks is one of the main reasons are defense is so good but 5'9.5 190 lb safetys that run 4.7's usually don't go that high in the NFL draft..Jaquan Johnson isnt going anywhere this year.

Dumbest reasoning ever.... His speed and size isn’t going to change in a year. He’s never been a great athlete so that’s not going to change. He’s playing his best football of his career right now. He’s not going to put much better film out than right now. Guys like Jenkins and Carter got drafted in the mid rounds and Johnson has put out better film this year than they ever did. Johnson can at least get drafted 3rd-4th rounds. Kids see dollar signs and leave. That’s why the declaring underclassmen has went up practically every year.

Definitely makes sense. Playing more nickel is Miami especially with all the DBs coming in.

I think the teams we play are dictating that.

Most teams are putting 3 and 4 WRs on the field.

That should be obvious to everyone. Need hybrid safety/LB sized players.

I dont know they seem to be going after a lot of LBs in 2019 and already have 2 committed. I think the lack of recruiting LB is because 10 of them is already on the roster and all 10 could be back next year. Diaz mentioned having a certain number of guys for each position. They probably just feel it isnt that important this class.

Diaz and Richt need to talk him into staying.

We can't have guys jumping ship their junior years only to be drafted in 4th round or later.

When guys went pro early in 2000s they were 1st rounders. The Ed Reed's of the world stayed for their senior seasons to win a ship. We need some of that. I don't want to be the Kentucky basketball of college football.

Correct. Sell high MJ. Will measure/test out really well at combine. Great film for 1 year of starting. Don't chance an injury or more film where you could possibly be exposed.

JJ needs to put out feelers & go from there. I think he will be back.

Already seeing it. Look at how he is using Amari Carter...and the fact that we might be signing 8 DBs in this class...
