He was 223 lbs. at the Nike and last was listed at 230 lbs on the roster.....in the off season he needs another 15-20 or so quality bulk.
Have you heard anything on his weight now?

But if that's the case, then you're not really committed. True, on the enforcement side. I just don't understand why there is even a "Clearinghouse" if kids can just transfer high schools for a month, or miraculously complete over a year of high school credit in a week with "correspondence courses".

And we don't know how college coaches are responding, if they are trying to play hardball with kids, or put pressure on them. And let's not forget that a bunch of top schools have coaches on the hot seat, so maybe some kids are hesitant to sign early until they see how the coaching carousel turns.

And, look, I realize that not all of that applies to UM. I'd love to have the entire class signed in December, but I'm not going to write off kids who don't sign the early paperwork.

There's a lot of uncertainty with this new rule, and I'm not going to fault some 17 year old kid who is a bit nervous about the whole process.

Polendey was thin coming out of HS but despite that thinness was benching almost 300 and squatting near 400-long arm and legged .....and was throwing the shot on the track team....he was wiry strong...at that point in his development his lack of bulk was his shortcoming. He is 6-6 and could weight 250 without much a problem with our S&C people. In fact I personally expect him to be 245-255 this coming summer.

He was a physical blocker with long arms and aggressive attitude in HS which if he were 250 lbs. or so he would be very effective in the run game after a being here for almost 2 years(when fall 18 starts).

His pass catching ability and ability to get open on this level may be a possible drawback- I am just guessing here. His height and size make him an end zone threat close in.

His numbers from the March 5, 2016 Dallas Nike were--4.88(40)......vertical (33.3").......short shuttle (4.42)......... and power ball (40')
good vertical and short shuttle for the size

Jordan has all the physical tools to be a TOP TE.......but not arriving as an EE and having that 8 months prep time is definitely going to hold him back in his overall U development in his freshman year. Same with Malloy.

You don't have to be able to enroll early to sign early, right?

You only don't sign in December if you are not sure. We can't count on not sure, and they shouldn't count on a spot being there if that signing date comes and goes and they don't take an offer. All parties involved should assume the other party is still looking if they don't take advantage of an offer when they have it.

Going to be interesting for sure though. Going to be interesting how the treatment of the non signees alters. Offers and bags will start coming in, kids will stop being recruited because spots will be taken. Could be wild.

Brock was the same one championing our unproven depth at RB during the offseason. Everyone knew what we had with Walton and that Homer had high upside, but after that we had crap. When fans voiced their concerns, he thought we were good. Now, we've had to revamp our whole offseason because Walton actually went down. With this situation at TE - its rinse and repeat.

Also added that homer would be ready and look how that turned out. Tyshon dye would have carried us to the acc championship if walton got hurt ?..... he has 35 Carries 134 yards 3.8 ypc on the season... but he was such a difference maker for the season according to some of you

Nobody said that a grad-transfer would be a "difference maker for the season" or would "carry us to the ACC championship". That was NEVER what ANYONE said. Nor did anyone question whether Homer "would be ready".

Instead, over and over again, many of us pointed out what was behind Walton if Walton got hurt. Homer, who we ALL liked, and then a collection of unproven and untested talent.

You can't just plug-and-play Tyshon Dye's stats and conclude that he would not help us. He might have only 35 carries for a half-season, but if he was with UM, he would now be getting more touches in Walton's absence, and running behind an OL that has been very good thus far.

The REAL point here is that Brock and others were telling us not to worry about RB so that they could argue for saving scholarships for the future, not because anyone was claiming that a grad-transfer was going to "carry us to the ACC-CG" or be a "difference maker".

We wanted depth. Brock just wants to be "right".

Likewise, there is a reason Gus transferred, because he knew he would like be a number 3 back, or at best share carries with the #2 back, unless someone got hurt. Although your reasoning is certainly sound, I sincerely hope that's not the case. You can't really ban him because he's just giving his actual takes, as bad as they may be a lot of the time. There just comes a point where people have to stop entertaining every little thing he posts and stop messing up threads. Especially the sacred Work.


Speaking of The Work, as much as I appreciate it, there was very little new info here. Not a knock on Pete because I'm sure there's quite a bit he can't spill, but man we NEED to hear something about QB recruiting this cycle. I have been behind Richt on most things so far, but not at least going after a couple other guys is a joke at this point. Sitkowski (on whom I was personally very adamant taking a wait-and-see approach) has been benched, unable to start over an average 3 star QB his senior year, at a **** school with so much more talent than just about every HS in America.

Surely there has to be SOME news about pursuing other options? The kid is a blatant waste of a scholarship (especially at arguably the most important position) and I'm actually trying to be nice with my choice of words here.

Most likely he'd start IMO.

Jobe's talented, but I don't see him starting over Johnson or Redwine. Especially if he can't enroll early. But he'll likely push for it at the end of his freshman campaign.

So what if the grad transfer RBs that were willing to come here weren't as good as Crispian Atkins? There's depth, and then there's useless depth. As of now, we have depth. We just don't have quality depth because the coaches don't trust the guys behind Homer.

Why do you assume that any of the grad transfers that were available are better than the guys we have? Dye is hot buttered garbage, and he's proving what a couple of of us thought of him when his name was being mentioned as a possible grad transfer. Pretty sure we tried to get him, but he chose to go somewhere where there was no competition. And he still can't get any burn and can't produce against **** competition.

If Polendey was any good he would have played last weekend instead of a DE who has been playing TE for 4 weeks. When Patchan was out there bumbling around at TE against Syracuse that told me a lot about Polendey.
