The Work 1-16

I dont care how you guys try to spin it, but if Rumph doesnt land Tyson Campbell he is a lost cause at recruiting. I wonder why Tyson wears #8 anyway? Hmmmm

That should tell you he dont want to be at miami. He went to ah because of rumph and wears the man jersey number. All of that and you think the problem is he hates rumph or he didn't tell campbell he can play day 1 the right way?

I dont know the back story or if he hates Rumph, but what I do know is there are guys who can teach technique just as good as Rumph and not be a liability on the trail.

I dont have names, but thats still a fact. Rumph was brought in with zero college coaching experience for a reason. You can connect those dots on your own. Everyone knows our built in advantages & we probably won't even get an OV from a stud who called his position coach a father figure.

And? Rumph can't make the dude like miami. Rumph has known nesta since he was young and he is committed. Doesn't matter how great a recruiter you are if the guy doesn't want to go to that school he isn't going.

Rumph is getting paid 250k at UM. He is not getting paid solely to teach technique. It is his JOB to make elite CBs like Tyson want to come to UM even if he isnt really interested. Repeat that to yourself a few times so you understand that concept.

I hope Rumph closes on Campbell because there is no way in justifying a huge flop like that.

If he doesn't land the kid who he was a huge influence for his whole football career do you have any confidence in him pulling Akeem Dent next year? If im not mistaken he is the top dog at CB next cycle.

I want to see Rumph succeed, but if he cant pull his own weight he needs to kick rocks. Be objective about the situation.

You sound dumb. No recruit is going to a school if they don't want to. That's not how recruiting works.

I repeated the emboldened part to myself and it doesn't make sense. I mean if you want to call it a flop if he doesn't choose Miami, ok (agree to disagree) but how is it his job to get TC to the school if he's not interested? If he's not interested then he's not interested. Which we don't even know if that's actually true or not.

Everybody needs to do themselves a favor...don’t kid yourself on Patrick Surtain. The class is still good even if he doesn’t come. Convincing yourself he’s coming based on one positive sentence from Pete is going to lead to major disappointment.

Y’all can’t be this new to recruiting, come on now.

It's also Pete's job to generate traffic here and the possibility of Surtain coming does that.. but, the kids actions are telling us he's legitimately interested too. Just like Campbell's actions for months have been telling us he's going to UGA

Sure, not blaming Pete for anything since he's just simply reporting what he's seeing. I'm sure PSJr is interested but it's up to us to read between the lines. People are just setting themselves up for disappointment if they truly believe he's comin.

So at this point Nesta is the only one that is locked in. Chatfield news is surprising. Everyone made it seem like that was a done deal to us. Guess not

This message board is filled with absolutists. Nobody hedges what they say because we’re all the extreme brand of homer. Ivins doesn’t do that. He makes sure you know that there are certainly other options outside of every recruit coming to Miami. And really, he shouldn’t. Because last year we all said three different dudes were definitely coming and they all bailed cuz crootin’

You pretty much said if he doesn’t bring Campbell Rumph should be fired but you want to be objective?

Sh-t. Cambell and Surtain both going to Bama this weekend? Odds of one of them shutting it down come Sunday night has to be pretty strong? Ive seen this story before.

Some of you shouldn’t following recruiting period, be crying like some little b*tches with every little twist and turn. If you can’t handle the heat then get the fvck out the pot

If he doesnt land Campbell what elite CB is Rumph going to snag? We going to keep him around & pay him all that $ for doing half the job?

I bet you thought we should have fired Dugans too last year since he missed on two elite WR’s? Good thing Richt is smarter than you.

Nope, Dugans never had the built in advantages like Rumph. Besides the fact both Grimes & Jeudy were essientially locks elsewhere when this staff took over.

GFAG.

Posters miss that point amidst their arguing. 19 pages in on an update we already knew by the time it came out other than the seat location of Richt at the game.
