Al was like a kid who grew up in the mafia. He saw this **** his whole life. He knew what being a Cane meant. And what it entailed. Its gonna be hard to find vocal leaders like that. Most of the guys on our roster seem to be "lead by example" types. Nothing wrong with that. But Im hoping we can find a few guys who are gonna get in a few faces and give pre game speeches that you knw come from the heart. You would hope it would be a guy like Seantrel or Chick. We shall see.

We far from goon status when u watch that. Them some goons right there and thats how it should be.
 
I love this stuff but do any of you think we have vocal leaders on this team that are anything close to our past canes? This attitude might be the main ingredient missing for us to be back.

Genuine and passionate leaders like that are a rare breed, and many are busy leading men on actual battlefields. It's the level of personal/team responsibility that impressed me the most.
 
I think we can get vocal goons like that again. But its gonna have to be at a point where a certain group of guys say, "Enough is enough". No more losing to UVA and UNC. No more getting embarassed on national TV to the NDs and KSUs of the world. No more losing to FSU and FLA. No more letting USF and UCF THINK they can even be on the same field as us. No more not getting any respect from the cable networks and putting our games on non-prime time slots. NO MORE! Like Al Blades and company decided back in 00'. When that day comes (And as cane fans we will know it just like we knew it back in 2000 after those kids **** near killed themselves in the OB to beat FSU) that is when we will be back.

That 2000 and 2001 teams had almost no goons. We had great leaders though. Vocal guys and quiet guys.
 
Alot of the attention of twitter and facebook change the kids from now. Players were better focused and alot came from nothing and played with more emotion. All u see now is a show to see who gets the most folowers and the most bytches. Kids like that are ridiculously rare and the game is more athletic now but u never see dudes like this with that attitude because of times and exposure.
 
If I had to take a guess who that guy is going to be I say Jamal Carter he sounds like the type a kid who talks 1st and doesnt giva ***.
