The SEC is overrated (but Texas is not hurt)

We are now halfway through the season and other than a brilliant legendary game between Georgia and Alabama, the supposed powers in the conference have looked pretty mid in a lot of games and I’m not just talking about Alabama and Vanderbilt.

Other than Texas, I don’t think one of them is living up to their preseason hype, and it’s not just that they look worse because they’re playing such extremely great competition in their conference. you know good football when you see it.

The playoffs are going to be wild.

Bama barely squeaks by an un ranked bottom feeder. Georgia wins a tight game against probably the worst team in the conference. Tennessee and Florida have a trash fest in Knoxville. Ole Miss and LSU doing the same. The SEC is Texas and everyone else.

In fairness, it’s difficult for any SEC team to exceed expectations when they start so high.

Dan Mullen actually said last week that what this means is that they have to go into EACH OTHER’S STADIUMS and play hard games against each other EVERY WEEK. Apparently that’s what that means.

But I am now really confused about what it means when they play at neutral sites, like Texas-OU today, and Florida-Georgia in two weeks. I’m sure ESPN’s marketing team has some circular logic that I just haven’t thought of.

There is real parity in cfb now, and the committee will have to actually use their eyes and not just go only off records because all wins or losses aren’t equal

I was hoping for USCe and W to win yesterday. And a tenn loss would have been very beneficial That said LSU and Ole **** are very average teams. The more I watch games this year the more I thi k we can play with anyone But also lose to anyone. SMU beats Pitt they have a real shot of being 8-0 in the ACC. Hopefully Pitt beats Clemson and SMU beats Pitt

Oregon should go 12-0. Toughest game maybe is Michigan on the road. Only game Pedo St has is the Suckeyes at home. Texas while I agree is the top overall team at the midway point, has two landmines - UGA and TxAM on the road to close out the season. Canes should go 12-0. Possible bump is at road games to GT and Cuse.

To me Texas is the only team we’ve seen dominate top 25 teams. OSU has problems now on their Oline with Simmons going down. Oregon looks hard to stop on offense, but their d can be had. Such a great year in CFB this year. So fun to be good. Just gotta go 1-0 10/19.

It’s great for CFB in general, but yeah, it’s even better when we actually have a chance.
