The Residents Of Miami Were Raped

I read that article in SI. The speed at which they moved to tear the OB down was alarming. Giving away JJ, Hanley and the gang last year was the nail in the coffin. Not sure how they are allowed to stay in business as team owners. They are making $ off of collective barganing from the other MLB teams, while purposfully keeping payroll down, to keep more themselves. That travesty of a baseball field will be doing he same thing as the Miami Arena before long. If it wasn't for the Hotties at The Clevelander, and Exterior design, the place would be laughable. The Green walls? Fish in the on deck wall? That joke of a homerun monument? C'mon man, get real! Samson and Lauria should be banned from the sport.

Guess i have to go out and grab a SI fish wrap to check out the article. They didn't post it online did they?

The people of this nation are raped daily by the Federal, State, and Local Guvments??? So what's your point OP?

The additions to the stadium will be approved and they'll strap the cost to the people gladly and the people will do nothing about it because they've been systematically dumbed down and they'll like it. Welcome to the USSA! The Republic is dead and the people will pay for whatever their masters decide they'll pay for.

I didn't write the headline of the article, just thought it was of interest to the membership. Yes, the people are raped daily, but it seldom comes out in print. Anyway, how did the deal go down when it now seems that it was such a bad idea? Or, is it simply a case of "Failure is an Orphan".

Even if they held daily public floggings at the stadium of Loria, Samson and the local politicians that enabled the rape I wouldn't go.

But I'd DVR it to watch later... :cigar:

Miami is one of the 10 poorest cities in the US and keeps electing democrats as mayors. It's never going to change until the political climate changes in Miami and Miami-Dade County. Miami is #5 and has never had a republican mayor.

LOL at 5K season ticket holders. Never thought that stadium would be more empty than Sun Life was, but I was wrong.

Um, the article says that Miami's Democratic mayor voted against that travesty. No doubt that Dade County is corrupt, but it's equal opportunity corruption.

I pray every day for the Marlins to lose every official game they play in....and for attendance to get to the point where it's worse than what it was at Dolphin stadium.

Then I continue to pray that the Marlins owner does what all scumbags do....and pulls a scumbag move and eventually moves the team out of town.

You laugh..you say it's impossible...but I'm pretty sure I read that the Marlins only "committed" to staying in town for either 7 or 10 years once they got that new stadium.

A curse upon all those who stripped us of the greatest sports monument this town has ever, and will ever had. I hope everything on that site fails miserably until the day ever comes where we get to go back.

I'd rather die of AIDS than ever set foot in that ****pile. Next time I visit, it's because we've converted it back into the Canes' home field for football. And **** Loria for making me hate the Marlins more than even Wayne Huipinga was capable of.

Sounds much like Detroit. A city taken down with political corruption. When's the last time Detroit had a Republican mayor?

Sorry to burst your bubble but the stadium deal guarantees the Marlins in Miami for 35 years.
