Denzel Perryman aka The President
Mission : Destroy the man with the ball

If you got a chance to see Perryman play in high school, you could actually tell people stories about when Perryman was "small". Perryman was a solid 205 pounds during his senior year and he laid some incredible hits (my old high school included). Three years later, he is now at 236 pounds, and don't let anybody tell you otherwise, he really is ALL muscle. He was the heart and soul of those Cavaliers teams. He was their kick-returner at times, he punted, oh and yeah, he also recorded 137 tackles as a senior. If you wanna see how awesome Denzel was in high school, check this video out.

17. Denzel Perryman Position: Linebacker Class: Junior The Buzz: He'll be the star of the second level with Eddie Johnson transferring out. Like many, he had injury issues that hurt production in 2012. But the weight-room super star is back in shape for a big 2013 with some experience surrounding him. Perryman is also considered the hardest hitter on the Hurricane defense.

This is great clip of DP highlight as well as lowlight
Denzel plays with passion, speed, aggressiveness and has that "IT" Factor
If my memory serve me correct , Perryman played with a bum ankle vs UNC
Lets hope The young Canes can find 3 to 4 other stand-out player
who can play at THE PRESIDENT LEVEL.

I watched this video and I ended up watching the DL only trying to figure out why it was so ****** last season.

They just don't play aggressively. I've been watching a lot of highlights from the early 2000s teams and that DL was just balls-to-the-wall aggressive as ****. This DL stands up and plays patty-cake with the opposing OL. **** is frustrating as **** to watch.

The D-line consisted of Smith, Pierre, Robinson, King, Moore, and Grimble for the majority of the year. When Porter came back there was a huge boost. I expect the D-line to get after it this year. Again, when you have 22 true sophomores and freshmen in the two deep on defense you're in big trouble. We basically had a JV squad being asked to dominate.

I think it's the scheme, not the players.

They don't fire off the ball. They stand up and ****y bump with the OL. Nobody is aggressive up front and I think that's a productive of our DL scheme and not the players.

Wait, are you saying engaging the OL isn't a good scheme?

Absurd.

I rewatched the spring game and it was hard to tell, if it was because the team was mismatched or what but the Orange defense played quite well actually. I would have love to see that team go against Morris' offense.

That's what they're asked to do. Read and react. It's ***** ball.

Not true sophomores or freshmen:

McGee
Green
Robinson
Rodgers
Highsmith
Telemaque
D. Smith
Cain
Gaines
Cornelius

Stop saying it was 22 freshmen and true sophomores, or else.

watching that video is a real downer and a sobering reminder for how bad the defense is/was.

i do not expect a big jump tbh. lol at people expecting top 30

Yuuup. Worse part about it against UNC was on maybe 2 teams we held under 30 points. So that wasnt even the worst of it.
