The Opening 2016 | OL vs DL 1 on 1's

I didn't think anyone stood out...Cesar was consistent and Leatherwood looked physically huge

Wow idk if Ive ever seen a more overrated group of OL...

It's ridiculous how political the selection process for the Opening is, after watching that you mean to tell me Navaughn Donaldson couldn't hack it with some of those scrubs??? He was excellent at the Rivals 5-star challenge in the same setting. Especially D'Antne Demery the UGA commit, my gosh he was a sieve!!! How did he even get selected? Dude looked like a young Sunny Odogwu out there.

As for others I thought Foster Sarrell of WA and Josh Myers of OH were the best OTs. Only saw 1 rep of Leatherwood, maybe I missed some. Herbert looked terrible on all but 1 rep, he has the potential but the strength is lacking and he has zero patience in his pass set, that alone would help him greatly. I'm sure he will be a stud under Harbaugh tho, not trying to hate on him bc he didn't come here.

Ruiz and Brahms were by far the best interior guys.

This, that is why I have been saying for over a year, out of all the OL I have seen I would make Slaton, Donaldson, Gray from GA, Brahms, and Caleb Chandler who is committed to IOWA STATE but I think he is a top five guard in the nation priorities. Slaton is indeed a guard but honestly from watching a lot of these kids he is one of the only OL in this class that I would trust at tackle, he has good basketball feet and good size. Just think if Donaldson and Slaton was lined up next to each other on a line, 6'5 336 AND 6'4.5 340, THAT COMBO would take us to the next level.

OL Creed Humphrey looks the best going against DL Marvin Wilson who looks like a real problem.
Leatherwood has great leverage and footwork.

After seeing that I think Donaldson can be a LT at the next level, his feet are better than a lot of those guys and has way more size. All he needs to do is cut weight and he will be dominant. I think Slaton is purely a G and should start his career at LG so he gets help from the C in pass pro and then moves over to RG after he develops some. I think Brahms is a RG/C but he would be more valuable at C imo bc it's easier to find quality Gs than it is a C. Haven't seen Gray's film yet but I Andrew Thomas, a UGA commit, is tremendous! 6'5" 326 at the opening w a 4.6 shuttle, and a SPARQ rating over 100... I'm really high on Chandler as well and I did watch his film. No longer committed to ISU as well. I think he actually could play RT but I agree he would be nasty at G.

As for Donaldson I think Golden not redshirting St Louis hurts us bc he is only 1 year behind both our starting OTs, unless he is head and shoulders above Odugwu and starts at RT. Sunny doesn't have the frame to slide in at G so really only Darling or TSL could. But only RG is up for grabs next year as I doubt either Darling or Odogwu is good enough to enter early. I think he might be too good to redshirt and could win the starting RG job as a true freshman, but when would he switch to OT? Or would you not want him playing any OG at all? So imo we need St Louis to step up and be good enough to be our starting LT, Sunny maybe but idk yet, so Darling can play RG next year so we can groom Donaldson without throwing him into the fire as a freshman. With his weight a redshirt would do him wonders, especially if he doesn't enroll early.

Kai-Leon Herbert??? How in the heck is ole boy a 4 star OL? All I've seen in his one on one drills is a massacre, and he's the victim! Smh.
